At age 34 and two (2) championship rings do you guys think Gasol would consider joining the NBA champions? His current team has a lot of questions marks Kobe will not be the same they still have no coach and most likely won’t get another all star caliber player till next year. Unless Kobe has a knife to his own wrist and says get me some help. Gasol will comand 3 years about 30 million. He has to consider the spurs who are know to play team ball that requires you to make the extra pass which he can do for a 7 footer. Also what another sells pitch is all the international players there is on the team. He doesn’t have to play a lot of minutes with Diaw (who needs to resign) and Spiltter who better coming off the bench. Gasol can be the stretch 4 while Timmy can play one (1) more year banging with the 5. I also believe the spurs need to get a YOUNG power forward in this draft to learn from Timmy and Gasol. If Gasol wants to win again I think team work and the way POP manages older players minutes this is the best spot for him. He has to at least think about this. What are you guys thoughts?

As a Lakers fan, I’d be sad to see him go, especially to the Spurs. But, as a Gasol-admirer, I see no better situation for him. He is easily one of the most skilled big men the league has seen, and he will play a very good role in SA for the Spurs, where he’d have his skills utilized much better than it has been the last two years.

They’d be damn good again.  If they did get him for 3 years, that would lessen the blow if Timmy decides to retire next year.

I suggested this a couple months ago, I thought a 2 year 16 million dollar deal with a team option for a 3rd year would suffice.

Maybe Pau could teach the Spurs how to defend a championship… Unlikely though.

pau still has a lot to offer if he can stay healthy. Missed 55 games combined these past 2 seasons and played through pain a lot. Hopefully he can finish his career healthy.

I respect Pau as a Lakers fan… And after watching what Dantoni put him through the past couple years I would be happy for him if he was able to end his career playing for a coach like Pop.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Pau needs to go to the Thunder.

Pau doesn’t have to worry about shot-blocking with Ibaka on the floor. Adams has a mentor for his offensive development. And most importantly, OKC gets a low post scorer so they aren’t just shooting jump shots every possession.

Thunder? Why? Pau wants to win now… OKC still has a third tier coach and no real leader on that team. Not winning a chip there.

I’d like to see him sign for the thunder..ibaka-gasol with adams coming from the bench..16 mil for 2 years as mentioned should do..instantly makes okc a better team..now the problem is perkins,he should have been amnestied a long time ago..since presti is apparently not willing to do that,it makes this a bit of an impossible task..presti is smart,I don’t know where this stubbornes about perk is coming from

I think Pau is a great fit on a few teams; Spurs, Mavs, Thunder, Heat (asuming they keep the big 3) and Portland.
