Penny Jr.ParticipantJeremy Pargo, i remember watching him last year in the summer league he seemed like a nba player but than again its jus the summer league but he was fun to watch… I cant think of none rite now but I usually remember alot cuz I always get dissappointed when I find out they didnt make a team but does anybody remember Curtis Jerrels from Baylor man he was a beast in college, he went up against some of the best players and still performed like a star, I remember when he went up against James Harden it was a complete showdown lol… I kno he got drafted by the spurs than went to the d-league and then I think he made warriors roster last season and didnt get any tick, I am jus thinkin how didnt he get picked high even Aran had him like in the top 5 at one point, he was on the lil slim side but he had superstar caliber offense, I hope one day he cracks a rotation were he plays solid mintues, does anybody see a reason why he couldnt make… sry leroy i didnt mean to make that long lol

JNixonParticipantI like Talor Battle, Julyan Stone, Diante Garrett and David Lighty Jr.
They could not make it, but I like them. Battle and Lighty are competitive guys who had very good careers in the Big 10.
Battle was a great scorer for a Penn State team that didn’t have much besides him his last 2 years. He’s more of a PG than he got to show, but his Soph. season he showed that he could be a playmaker for others when he had Cornley down low. He’s similar to Scottie Reynolds, but he’s smaller and quicker.
Lighty defends very well from a fundamental standpoint and doesn’t have a bunch of weaknesses at all. He’s smart, strong and tough on the wing. He wasn’t a great athlete though, and it showed at times against the more athletic teams he faced.
Stone is just intriguing because he’s a 6’7 PG who can play SG and SF. He defends, is athletic, rebounds, handles, and passes well. He just can’t shoot at all.
Garrett grew up as a Sr. He’s a 6’5 PG with great handle and nice quickness. He can’t shoot, but he did get better last year. He went from bad to below average, and even would shoot from NBA range and make a few. Before he didn’t even take open shots from 18 feet. But he’s a pure point and a nice distributor. He’s similar to a 6’5 Ramon Sessions, just not as quick.

sahrgobucksParticipantDavid Lighty is a proven winner. He never really had a chance to showcase how good his offensive game really was always playing with great players such as Oden, Conley, and Cook from his freshman year to Evan Turner and then eventually Sullinger Buford and Diebler. Taylor Battle is a great competitor and i wont be shocked if he finds success over seas.

Chilbert arenasParticipantIt’s a long shot but I would like to see Steven Grey from Gonzaga, he’ 6’5 can shoot, pass, gets at it on defense, and rebounds well for a guard. But lacks athletic qualities teams desire.

StF616Participant1.Patrick Ewing Jr. – Extremely Underrated, up till now i dont know why he can’t stay with an NBA Team. Very Athletic, could be a good role player or a team. Athletic wing that has a good mid range game and can rebound well.
2.Marcus Landry – A bit of a tweener but is more of a 3 than a 4. Can shoot well from range. Pretty Athletic , has good range, can play as a back up 3 in the league with the ability to guard 4s.
3.Jermaine Taylor – Imo one of the most underrated players in the league. When he was a rocket, he was a Great scorer and was an athletic dunker, I heard that he has now improved his all-around game. I saw him play Live against kobe in his first NBA Start his rookie season. He limited kobe to 17 points and scored 15 points in 30 minutes. He could be a Great Sixth Man, similar role to a Jason Terry or Jamal Crawford as a scorer off the bench.
4.Ish Smith – He is one of the best passers that i have seen play. Right now, thats just what he is a point guard with Excellent court vision that you just can’t teach. As he improves his jumpshot and starts to learn how to run an NBA Offense, i believe there will be a spot for him un the league.
5.Latavious Williams – Remember him? The dude that skipped college to play in the D-League and head ot the NBA Draft? He was drafted by the Heat and Traded to the Thunder and is still playing for the Tulsa 66ers (the thunders d-leaue affiliate) He is Extremely athletic and a Tenacious rebounder. I could see him developing to a Paul Millsap type of player with less offensive ability. He is still young and if he develops a post game he will be a very good player.Honorable Mention:
Von Wafer – Could develop into a nick young type player.. If he actually tried to play defense, he could be a starter in the league.
Joey Dorsey – Great rebounder.. he needs to stop fouling to much.. Like i said, there’s always a spot for a good rebounder in the NBA0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/25/2011 - 4:43pm #578190

Mike Taylor – i really think he has a lot of talent at the PG position
Von Wafer – at times he was awesome…but other times he was terrible this year in Bean Town

Chilbert arenasParticipantDidn’t McCants give up to start acting or something?
I think Mike Taylor could have some value based on his athletic ability and length. Since the NBA is becoming a point guard league it could help to have someone to come off the bench to defend them.
I hope Suns sign Sean Williams

M-DYMESParticipantMcCants is still playing for a D-League team. He was doing some acting on the side…saw some trailer on here and it looked horrible. I can’t imagine him getting a career out of that.
The dude has talent, esp. offensively, he just needs a team to give him an opportunity. I think the league maybe have barred him in a sense.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantGet your facts right! Jerrells was NOT drafted by the Spurs, he was called up by them at the end of the 2009-10 season to be assigned to play the play-offs with Austin. Here is a link to the 2009 draft where he was eligible, he’s not there:
http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_final_draft/2009
@river09: Yes, he did sign in Europe:

M-DYMES you also got it right for McCamey:

@Bmore_DC: I saw R.Davis play at my favorite team, Roanne, this season, and man he was just so inconsistent. I don’t see him back to the NBA.
As a French observator, I’m going to talk to you about a group of players that really impressed me during their stay in France:
PG: Brion Rush 6-1 PG/SG 11/15/1984 Grambling St. That guy really impressed me during his second year when he was at Strasbourg IG: 21.2 ppg at 43.4%, 5.1rpg 3.3apg 2.1spg in 08-09. He continued on in Russia, probably the second best euro league behind Spain, where he was first a scoring leader at Triumph Lyubertsy and then as the second option at Samara, the finalists of the latest EuroChallenge. His game reminds me of AI’s one as a scoring machine in a SG’s body. However, I think he’ll not make the league because he’s too small and he’ll not be let as a team’s primary scoring option. Here’s his playerfile (in French):
http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=36772&mode=averages&season=65
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZvC0Ok2x3E
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUnIlxzTZ0A
SG: Dewarick Spencer 6-4 05/04/1982 Arkansas St. Probably the most talented player our contry has seen in the past decade. That guy can score from anywhere at anytime, defends hard, and gives such an impression of facility that some players who have played against him never saw him sweat. He was the Euroleague’s top scorer in 2007-08. In his best scorin season with Roanne, he shot 50.6% FG during all season. He’s now playing in Kyiv, probably for the money, but I think NBA teams should take a look at him as a 6th man. His playerfile:
http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=22044&mode=averages&season=64
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3xCHVutKxE
SF: Sammy Mejia 6-6 02/07/1983 SG/SF DePaul – Drafted by the Pistons at 57 in 2007, he has since then been a major contributor in france for Cholet, ’10 champions and ’11 runners-up. The latest MVP, he is a very talented and smooth scorer, a leader/playmaker AND a winner. I see him fit perfectly with the Spurs.
http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=34129&mode=averages&season=68
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHK2LpsC_Y8
PF: Lamayn Wilson 6-8 06/11/1980 Troy St. A very complete PF who can also play some SF. He is very explosive, quick and can shoot from the 3pt line without any difficulty. Was a dominant player on the country’s best teams. Also plays for Kyiv now. He’s probably too old to make the NBA now, but he’s one of my favorite players.

C: Davon Jefferson 6-7/6-8 SF/PF/C 11/03/1986 USC- Let’s put it simply: Jefferson was the most dominant player in ProA last season. When he wanted to, he could just dominate a game. Yes, he isn’t always implicated in the game, but his explosiveness and his all-around offensive talent as well as his potential should have the NBA take a chance on him.
http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=49786&mode=averages&season=68
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIWKRMSGIvM
6th Man: AD Vassallo 6-6 04/12/1986 SF/SG Virginia Tech- A very powerful, cold-blooded and complete scorer who can crash the boards efficiently and defend decently. Due to his solid physique, might be the best to have the game suited for the NBA. A very impressive player.
Playerfile: http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=33248&mode=averages&season=68
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TVqrZjQFjs
7th man: Austin Nichols 6-6 04/08/1982 Humboldt St. One of the purest and most complete scorers of the past decade. He can also defend hard and can easily assume a role-player role in the NBA, by whom he was tested with the Phoenix Suns during an off-season and had a decent performance. Seems to have lost a bit of his level since his superb 2007-08 season, but still has the talent level to have a part in the NBA. Playerfile: http://www.basketnews.net/asp.net/main.players/card.aspx?player=21097&mode=averages&season=66
Highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkOwqcM1kEY
Honorable mention: Anthony Roberson, Ricardo Greer, Saer Sene, Matt Walsh, Marques Green, Marquez Haynes, Marc Salyers, Aaron Harper, Uche Nsonwu-Amadi, Rick Hughes, Derrick Obasohan, Andre Emmett….
I know that realistically most of these players won’t make it to the NBA, but these are players I would WANT to see in the NBA.
Other than that, I’d def like AI to come back, and think guys from the D-League like Sean Williams, Joe Alexander, Blake Ahearn or Ivan Johnson will have a chance in NBA next season.

omphalosParticipant@Chilbert: I wouldn’t count on Gray playing pro ball at a level close to the NBA; I have a friend at Gonzaga who told me he smokes obscene amounts of pot and doesn’t take basketball very seriously. Could end up in the D-League, but those sort of character concerns will keep him from the big league.

Chilbert arenasParticipantYeah, i never really thought he’d make it to the league, he seemed content with his game. I just liked him in college. At least he didn’t get busted with shrooms like Josh Hytvelt .
