I don’t know about you, but I love the regular season, as a draft fanatic seeing the incoming rookie class and other young players develop is my favourite part of the NBA. Don’t get me wrong, playoffs are amazing, but the regular season is awesome if you know enough about the teams to find a player you want to watch on every squad.

My favorite part of the season is also watching the rookies, some of them the future of the NBA, develop and adapt to the NBA and play with and against my favorite players. I love watching the draft and am looking forward to the next one already, more than any sports draft.

I’m looing forward to watching the next generation of players (Shabazz, Jabari, Wiggins, Randle, etc.) more than I ever have before.

For crappy teams like the Bobcats, they could have pay to play nights. You buy a ticket and you get the chance to suit up and play. I would watch that on tv for sure.

We need all the teams competing on a nightly basis to make the game great. If you had no reg season you might as well cut the league down to 16 teams. Regular season gives crappy teams a chance to improve their lot. Personally I like the grind of 82 games. If you’re on top after that long a season you deserve the top seed.

I’d like to see some money at stake for all teams based on wins during the regular season. Maybe nothing really significant. But something. It could be every player on the winning team of the regular season gets $1,000 each game. The playoffs have a little bit of money at stake for the players. And lots of the owners (I think each playoff home game is at least a million dollars in profit for the owner.)

Anyway, if players got paid for wins, then the regular season would take on greater meaning. As it is, many of the good teams know they are making the playoffs, so they coast through some parts of the regular season.

If you don’t like the regular season you either don’t know basketball, don’t have a passion for basketball or don’t watch the right games. Every day there are great games on and you have world class individual performances. How about seeing the young cats progress, step up their game and prove themselves throughout the season? They should ban your ass for saying some stupid shit like that.

The regular season is great, but I would like to see them trim the season from 82 to 70 games. I think 82 games becomes a little too much, and that if we started the season in the middle of October, and ended the regular season in mid April, than teams would only have to play 12 games a month, meaning more practice time, and better quality on the court, because understandably all the players get fatigued in the middle of the season. The regular season is great, but I just feel it should be a little shorter.
