Lotto StudParticipantThe proposed deal is for Beal to be selected by the Bobcats in exchange for Barnes but what if the Wizards select Barnes at #3 is the question do the Bobcats then swap Beal for MKG?

jhbm24ParticipantAnd trade down to the cavs for the 4th and 24th so the Wizards steal a 1st round pick and the cavs are gna have to throw on two secon rounders to the bobcats.

B-ball fanParticipantThat could happen, but I think it is unlikely. Thomas Robinson would be a better fit for Washington as a long term solution at pf. Perhaps Washington could take Barnes to add some shooting and give them some minutes at sg, but I don’t think he is BPA and I haven’t heard anything about Washington targetting Barnes.
It would throw a wrench in the Cle-Cha deal, though.

CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipantGreat question. I don’t think they would go after MKG personally. I think the Bobcats would try and go after Barnes still. The fact that they are coveting Beal and Barnes shows they want a scorer. I love MKG as a prospect but he isn’t a scorere right now. An all around talent that can help the team out in other way. Plus MKG and Kyrie played ball together in high school so I think that could still work for the Cavs. They can get some quality shooters with their later picks

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf the Wizards select Barnes with the 3rd pick, they throw a monkey wretch into their own roster.
Why another SF when you’ve JUST drafted Singleton and Vesely? It would be stupid of them.

StingRay07ParticipantDo you think Barnes might be able to play the 2? I’ve been wondering this lately.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantnow that I’m thinking about it if Beal is gone the Wiz have to deal for 6-11 and pick up some assets or draft Drummond. T Rob to to similar to Nene, very solid but combined with Okafor they still dont have a legit size center. I always thought Okafor would be best with another big with some length and a jump shot like Gasol or even a Spencer Hawes or Bosh. T Rob, Nene and Okafor are three slightly different versions of the same guy, character and all. How can two of them plus Chris Singleton be on the court at the time.
I am not that high on Drummond but he might be the only guy in this draft who will ever average 26 points a game for 1 whole NBA season.

joecheck88ParticipantVesely is a 4 and Singleton isn’t a starter. Barnes to Washington makes some sense. But with Washingtons newfound veteran leadership, I think they should take Drummond.

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"Vesely is a 4 and Singleton isn’t a starter."
Vesely plays either forward position and Singleton started 51/66 games last season. How is he not a starter?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/25/2012 - 8:58am #687447
joecheck88ParticipantVesely is easily at his best as a mismatch 4. And Singleton started on a bad team. He is firmly a back up now behind TREVOR ARIZA. Not Lebron, Melo, Durant or anybody like that but TREVOR ARIZA. So that is how Singleton isn’t a starter.

220ParticipantI don’t think the Bobcats make a deal with Cleveland unless they don’t care whether they get Thomas Robinson, Harrison Barnes, or MKG. If they really want Barnes, then I doubt they risk not picking him when Washington could certainly snatch him up.

apb540ParticipantI think Barnes is able to play the 2 but as more of a SF/SG role than a full-time SG. Washington screwed themselves so badly in that Okafor + Ariza trade. They added salary and took playing time away from their young players (Vesely, Singleton, Booker, Seraphin).

derrickrose231Participanti think they should take beal and idk who will win out ariza and singelton they are both really good defender prolly be ariza but should be interesting

Lotto StudParticipantHow are they suppose to take Beal with Charlotte ahead of them?

WizardofOzParticipantAccoring to David Aldridge, it seems like Thomas Robinson is the guy they’re going to draft, so all this is likely moot.

WizardofOzParticipant"Vesely plays either forward position and Singleton started 51/66 games last season. How is he not a starter?"
Singleton started by default. Much of his rookie season was very underwhelming. He was playing well at the beginning of the year, playing great defense, but he faded as the yr went on. His defense got worse, and he has no offensive skill, and he lacks offensive instincts off-the-ball:
In regards to Vesely, I don’t think he played a single minute at SF last yr. His primary position was PF, and even played a little C I believe. I think we should be playing him at SF though. He was a perimeter player in Europe, and he really carved out a niche for his team, and the fans loved him. I think if they try to groom him as a 4, than their just settling. I think he has a better chance of becoming a special player is played as a 3.
And I think the Wizards think Barnes is capable of playing the 2.

Lotto StudParticipantHow sure can Aldridge be that the Wizards would take Robinson over Barnes? After all they need a wing who can shoot & are heavy in the frontcourt now by bringing in Okafor.

I meant to say that he think the Bobcats are going to draft Robinson. He said according to sources, that the Wizards are likely to choose Beal or Barnes. I’m hoping for Drummond of Barnes though.

220ParticipantThe Bobcats need everything but a Center if that’s what they’ll use Biyombo for, a shooting guard if they are as committed as Gerald Henderson as it seems, and point guard with Kemba Walker and also with Augustin as a restricted free agent. A go to scorer in the post would help everyone on the team be more effective so I truly think when Thursday comes Thomas Robinson will be selected second.
