ExumInfernoParticipantNot sure how many teams worked with the Warriors and Cavaliers but there were a few who used their open money or other assets so the teams now in the finals could improve.
Iguodala, the Warriors were able to get the Jazz and Nuggets to work with them. The Jazz especially did a lot, taking on the money of Biedrins, Jefferson and Rush. The Jazz did get some future picks, so it was worth it for them.
The Cavs cleared money by working with Boston and New Jersey. Zeller to Boston, J Jack to the Nets, that cleared money for the Cavs. Boston also took on M Thornton from the Nets and got a pick from the Cavs, which they used to acquire I Thomas.
I know the Celtics traded Bogans to Cleveland too, he was an unguaranteed player and the Cavs then traded him to the 76ers, which might have created a trade exception or something.
Before that, the Jazz traded Felix to Utah so they could get back a bunch of players on unguaranteed deals too.
Maybe the Knicks trade of Shumpert and Smith is a similar idea of helping the Cavs, as the Knicks didn’t get a lot back except for moving away salary, and they didn’t help the Cavs create money to use.
The rest of the trades the teams made might have been even ideas, not one team trading for now and the other helping them do it. Denver got two firsts for Mozgov, that was a solid deal for them and wasn’t about facilitating a move to clear money.
So it seems the Jazz and Celtics, especially the Jazz, did a bit to help the teams in the finals.

ChewyParticipantThe pick up of Mozgov from the Nuggets (who wanted to create space for Nurkic) and pick up of Shumpert and JR Smith from NY (Who… well I don’t know what they want, but they clearly didn’t have the culture to get the most out of headcase Smith) are to thank for the Cavs.
The starting roster for the Cavs on opening day would not have made it to the finals I think. Started 19-20.
