RUDEBOY_ParticipantTennessee has coach Bruce Pearl has admitted to providing misleading & incorrect information to the NCAA..During a 17 month investigation into possible recruiting violations..
And Tennesse is making him pay for his actions..Athletic Director Mike Hamilton is reducing Pearl’s annual pay by 1.5 million dollars for 5 years.
And starting September 24th. Pearl won’t be allowed to be involved in any off-campus recruiting for 1 year..
Hamilton allowed reduced the pay of Pearl’s assistants by 25% and they won’t be allowed to do any off campus recruiting for 9 months..Hamilton said Pearl provided the information during an interview in June..
About excessive phone calls to recruits ..
During a tearful press conference on friday ,Pearl said he was sorry for what he had done..And tried to correct his mistake..
I’ve learned it’s not OK to tell the truth some of the time..You have to tell the truth all the time…..0 - Posted on: Fri, 09/10/2010 - 2:32pm #398619

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’ve always thought Pearl was a shady “turn his head the other way” kind of coach.
I played with Anthony Passley in high school, who went to University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and then Tennessee, and he used to tell me a lot of things Pearl did that were crooked.
Hopefully he doesn’t make this mistake again… He’ll put himself in a situation similar to Kelvin Sampson did.

JNixonParticipantPearl is an outstanding and very underrated coach, but he’s never really been a disciplinarian. I think alot of the players on Tennessee (past more so than present) are considered “thugs” and alot of the guys he’s coach don’t accept coaching during the games I watch a good bit of the time. He is a great motivator and a charismatic guy on the court, but his weakness is maintaining control with his players, on and off the court. Whether it’s maintaining his own players’ self-control, or maintaining his own self-control. We all have problems though, so maybe he’ll grow out of it.
