Stojakovicfor3ParticipantWho would you rather have Luol Deng, JJ Redick, some draft picks, and some cap relief or Vince Carter, JJ Redick, and being way over the cap? Personally as a Magic fan I would rather have Deng and JJ.

TRC1991ParticipantWhat exactly is so appealing about vince carter? I dont know why Chicago wants to move Luol Deng so badly, hes 10 years younger than vince and had a more productive season

IknoBall12Participantwill always be a good player but people need 2 face facts vince isnt a player that can be counted on in the playoffs. watt worse is he was really known for his hops and being a fan attraction and he doesnt even have his rise anymore. he is now jus another scorer in the league and an overpaid scorer at that.

If for some awful reason Orlando was to match the offer for Redick, they would have a $90 million payroll. Orlando is not paying $90 million in salary and $20 million in tax. They don’t have the revenue of the Lakers, Knicks, or Bulls. This would force them to sell off some combination of Marcin Gortat, Brandon Bass, Vince Carter, and/or Mickael Pietrus. They probably move one of them anyway. Plus, keeping Redick doesn’t make them any better. They would end up paying $14 million for Redick this year, and Van Gundy still has to pick his spots as to when he won’t get burned defensively. If anything, having him eat up the Bulls cap room helps keep down Chicago.

GrandfiNalley101ParticipantJJ showed more heart against the Celtics than any other of the Magics wings…. two things with this he didn’t start and have to chase Paul and Ray also he looked a little green in the crunch. He keeps improving and will. I am not sure who they should get rid of but resigning JJ should be a priority.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThat would be crazy in my opinion.. I would rather have Deng and JJ… BUT, I could see a reason why the Bulls would do this.. The Bulls’ GM is a little smarter than people give him credit for.. He could be looking for Carmelo Anthony next year.. Think about it..
Next year, after Melo gets beat out of the playoffs in the second round, he is going to be pissed because:
1. The Nuggets got beat
2. Because the organization hasnt put him in contention to win a ring..He could be looking for a way out and Chicago could be the answer if they trade Deng for Carter..
IF that were to go down, the Bulls suddenly have a 20 million dollar expiring contract AND, an open spot in their lineup for a starting SF.. They could tell Melo this:
“Look, you can go to NY and play with Amare and D’Antoni and be a superstar there.. You can score lots of points and be a very exciting team but you wont win a championship with them.. We (the Bulls) have all the pieces in place for you to be the best player on a championship team. Derrick Rose is arguably the best PG in the league (next year) and we have shooters all around you.. Not to mention, we have Boozer on the block to relieve you on the inside and Noah to be the defender.. Yea, your friends have a big three in Miami but you saw how that worked (thinking its not going to go as planned). Here, we have all the pieces, except one, to be a championship team.. I mean we proved that last year with our play in the Semi-Finals.. Do you know what is missing from our equation?? A guy that can flat out score… I cant think of a person in the entire league that is a better fit here in Chicago..”
For me, it would be hard to turn that offer down.. A max contract and all of the pieces to win a championship now.. Not in a few years, now..
Look at this:
PG: Rose
SG: Korver/Redick
SF: Melo
PF: Boozer
C: NoahWow.. Fun fun team there…

PhlyBoi5Participanti like that scenario for my magic deng and jj…but looking ahead that would be a hell of a team no doubt about that.

Bison 49ParticipantDeadly sin … you get a thumb up just for the hypothetical speech. Probably best if delivered by Denzel Washington, or Samuel L. Jackson. Maybe the Bulls could bring one of these guys in to make the 2 minute pitch to Melo.

Jerome James had a monster series for Seattle against Sacramento. Do you remember the “heart” Sasha Vujacic showed in the 2008 series with Boston? Trevor Ariza had so much heart and was such a glue guy, how could the Lakers ever win when they replaced him with Ron Artest? DeSagana Diop just showed the tip of his ability with Dallas in 2006 and 2007. How about the great role playing effort of Boobie Gibson in 2007 or how Jason Kapono was just so clutch with Shaq and Wade in Miami.
Overpaying a guy like Redick ruins a team’s ability to get better.

JoeWolf1I really hope the Bulls sign Brewer, He’d provide the defense they need off the bench and he has more upside than Reddick, I think they could get him for cheaper too. They got a shooter in Korver, but I don’t think they need Reddick for that amount of money. I think their biggest need right now is two guys to replace Brad MIller and Kirk Hinrich, they have a great top 6 or 7 guys, but without legit backups at the center and point guard positions they are going to run into trouble.
