I don’t think he will, his agents just probably keeping the teams optimistic to get his stock up. I hope he does come this year though.

Sounds like his agent saw him slipping in the draft and is trying to do some damage control.

Anyone know how much his buyout could be?

Teams can send 500K and if it is around $1million then he could surely find the rest from his rookie salary but if it’s much more than that then there may be issues. A lot could depend if his current team would negoiate or if his buyout could drop down next year so they might decide to take the offer on the table.

It’s just some optimistic news to boost up his draft stock for a final run.

I doubt the situation would be finalized before the draft.  If a team likes him, they should expect to wait for him and if he can come early, then that’s bonus.

Not that many top 10 picks don’t come over right away, Rubio springs to mind. Fran Vasquez was taken 11th in 2005 I seem to recall but generally stashers are taken at 20 or below.

David Robinson was draft eligible when he was chosen first and the Spurs knew they would have to wait but he was a Franchise level big to be fair.

Him and his agent just realized how many hundreds of thousands of dollars they will be missing out on if he goes from the #4 or #5 to out of the lottery. Close to 1.5 million a year difference from the 5th to the 15th

Jonas in this draft simply cannot fall lower than 14… before 9 is more likely.  Weak draft and all that.
