HandDownManDown13ParticipantI’ve really loved this team all year long and now that they’ve beaten kansas and everyone knows their name I think its a good time to ask the question.
Now that you’ve seen them play, Do you think any of the guys on this team can either Get Drafted? or make an NBA roster?

R-Dot-13ParticipantDoubt it, the only guy with a real case is Eglseder because hes a legit 7′ but hes not a great rebounder.
Farokmanesh is a good shooter, but he’d have a better career in Europe

GrandmamaParticipantLegit 7 foot??? Wasn’t he like 3 inches shorter than Aldrich?

fliptonnParticipanthe’s right, theyre the 9 seed for a reason, and it was the second round anyone. they had to beat UNLV. and any team that wins 30+ games is legit. but i dunno if any of them are going to the league. faruk is their third leading scorer but jordan eglseder is the only one who has a shot and he wont be that good.

knicksfan7ParticipantI love Ali, but he is listed at 6′ and I believe that is generous. Eglseder is 7′, but is too slow and couldn’t be able to guard faster centers. Both are suited for Europe. UNI is just a team with very good college players who play team ball, like most top mid-majors.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI agree with knicksfan7; their two best players won’t have a career in the NBA, but they could find success overseas.
I picked Kansas to go to the Final Four, but I don’t care. When Northern Iowa plays again, and Farokhmanesh hits a three, I’m gonna sing, “Farokh! Farokh! Farokh is on fire! We don’t need no water, let the Farokhmanesh BURN!!!”

Adi JosephFarokhmanesh is far from Northern Iowa’s second-best player. He’s their clutch shooter, but also their fourth-leading scorer.
I think Eglseder, Adam Koch (the Missouri Valley POY) and Kwadzo Ahelegbe all have very remote chances to make it, but more than likely none will.
Koch should be a really good European player, though. He’s an excellent 6-foot-8 power forward.

HandDownManDown13Participantno i’ve actually been watching them the entire season. For some odd reason i love teams with panthers for a mascot and when i saw some of their games were televised i started watching.
I really hope Egleseder makes it. The NBA needs someone who looks like Chris Kaman and Shrek’s lovechild

HandDownManDown13ParticipantI really like UNI for the next couple years as well. While Egleseder, Koch, and Farokhmanesh are set to graduate, there are a couple young players for them who will be good. Adam Koch’s brother Jake is a freshman, and is currently having the type of season adam had as a freshman. Ahelegbe has another season left and they have other peices who can step up like Kerwin Dunham and Lucas O’Rear. They also have two incoming freshman who are going to make a impact in Chip Rank and Doug McDermott, AKA Harrison Barnes’ sidekick on his highschool team.

JNixonParticipantI knew someone would ask if Northern Iowa’s players that would get drafted after that upset lol…I think Eglseder is the only player that even has a VERY slight chance, but he’d be like a Pat Burke type NBA player. Aka 1 of the 2 worst players in the League immediately.
