TRC1991ParticipantIt’s truly miraculous how many times the refs put Blake Griffin on the line. If anyone else is watching this current game against Phoenix, you’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s just embarrassing how quickly they’ll put him on the free throw line. The NBA is pathetic with how evident it is for them to need an L.A. team to succeed.
Not saying the Clippers aren’t a great team, because they are, but it’s hard for teams to compete when the refs blow the whistle at every opportunity in favor of them.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI’m a well documented Suns fan and didn’t think it was that poorly called. If this was the case why would they have ejected Jamal Crawford for the first time in his career over only a few words. Blake got a lucky bounce in over time but not butt hurt about it, it was a great game.

TRC1991ParticipantThat "foul" where Alex Len apparently hit Blake on the face on a jumper (Len’s hand didn’t get within 8 inches of Blake’s face) was the saddest and most hideous call I have ever seen. That was the difference in the game. That was ice on the cake had they not given him 2 free points

TenSecondTomParticipantAs a Suns fan I’m feeling the pain of not having a superstar who gets the "superstar treatment" by the refs. I specifically remember one game versus the Thunder last year where PJ Tucker was excellent in guarding Kevin Durant for the entire first half. Lo and behold, the refs got a little whistle happy in the second half and Durant got his points quota for the game even though Tucker did a great job of limiting KD’s efficiency. These suttle things could be the difference between a team like Dallas or even OKC (although I think they will be a lock for the playoffs in the end) and a team like Phoenix in terms of getting a spot in the playoffs. "Star treatment" negates the intangibles that an all-around team bring to the table (excluding SA).

TRC1991ParticipantThis is incredibly accurate. I’m also a fan of the Hawks and they got jobbed repeatedly in the playoffs against Boston a few years ago due to having no stars.
The refereeing in the NBA has become criminally inhumane.
The star will always get the benefit of the doubt against the role player – it’s atrocious.

Jazzfan47ParticipantI stopped reading when you said, "I’m also a fan of…" I couldn’t be a true fan of two teams. It upset me so much that I started a profile here lol.

TRC1991ParticipantI live in Seattle, who else am I supposed to root for?
Easy to call people out when you still have a team. SMH

tuck243ParticipantI think it’s hard to ref any game of Chris Paul’s and Blake Griffin’s… Both are very physical and flop a lot… Chris does the little flailing arms thing while dribbling at least 10 times a game… Blake get away with a lot of offensive fouls w/ lowering his shoulder. Even when he dunks, he sometimes move the player’s arm out the way with his off hand… He falls hard too… I think Blake is always out of control when he make a move to the hoop.
But Blake plays very physical which make it hard for the refs to call the game. It’s either an offensive foul, defensive foul, or a no call… Keep in mind there’s almost contact on every play w/ Blake so they can’t swallow the whitsle all the time.
That ejection on Crawford was really a build up of Blake cursing at the ref. He couldn’t throw Blake out because throwing out a superstar in a close game is kinda forbidden. So, Jamaal caught the end of the ref’s frustration. If you watch the replay on League Pass (the Clippers side) you can hear Blake laying it on the ref. Like he was super disrespectful.
I think the only superstar calls Blake receives is him being able to stay on the court… The play you mention is more of a call they got duped and it happens. Like I said it’s so much contact with Blake it’s hard to tell what’s a foul and what isn’t… Add the flopping and you have a game that’s hard to ref.
