SteroidParticipantI don’t understand why there is such a big deal about trash talking. Trash talking can be considered “immature” but really? I understand there is a line that can be crossed with trash talking, but this happens in every sport! People take it as a negative thing, but who would want a player who gets trash talked to him and then roll over afterwards? I see nothing wrong with trash talking. That is part of the game. Many critics are targeting Demarcus Cousins during the summer league because he was jawing and talking to the officials. Is it that really big of a deal? Is it affecting his game in a negative way? Has he gone overboard with it?

joecheck88Participantyou got a point, gary payton and kevin garnett are two of the most well known players in the history of the game and both are/were avid trash talkers but nothing gets said. i think most people want guys to prove themselves first, but cousins definately has a fire to him but he needs to make sure its kevin garnett fire not rasheed wallace fire.

SteroidParticipantI don’t know about Kevin Garnett. He does some pretty bush-league type stuff sometimes. I’ve seen him cross the line pretty a lot lately.

sacphil_08ParticipantTrash talking can go overboard but in demarcus’ case he’s backing up what he says and he will do that throughout his career. Critics just want something to happen so that they have something to talk about. No matter what he does he’ll be criticized. If he scores 40 in a game people are going to say that he was a ballhog or talk about whatever his shooting percentage was. I’m a kings fan and im fine with it. It bothers me that there are people who really try hard to make someone look bad because they don’t want to be wrong but demarcus will prove everyone wrong who doubted him

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantGarnett looks straight-up Sp.Ed in that video.
“Don’t TOOOOOUCH!!!!! Don’t TOOOOOOUCH!!!”
You can’t really get upset over trash-talking in sports, especially when you’re talking about young players. I’ve never played in that competitive of an environment, but jawing between players and complaining to refs has existed in every league that I’ve ever played in. IMO, it shows a higher passion for the game.

adamsc14ParticipantThis is one of my favorite michael jordan clips. It would be cool if you can do this after a play.

PlatypusParticipantHe is passionate about the game. When he gets mad it makes his game better, its like Sheed on the Pistons, when he was pissed you wanted to give him the ball because you knew he was gonna find a way to get it in there.
