How good of a core do the trailblazers have in comparison to all time teams. I believe that if they keep the players that they have they will be able to win close to 7 or 8 championships to come. Oden, Roy, Bayless, Aldridge, Batum, Blake, Diogu, Fernandez, Frye, Outlaw, Rodriguez, Webster, lafrentz, and pryzbilla. I think that that team is ridiculously young and talented

The Trailblazers have a great young team that in some aspects remind me of the good young talent that the Bulls had a couple years ago (Although the Blazers group have players who are not tweeners like "Ben Gordon" or "Tyrus Thomas").

The two biggest concerns going forward that has yet to be asnwered: Can Bayless be a NBA PG not a small 2 guard (I think he can) and can Greg Oden be healthy and dominant (He already appears to get injuries as often as Yao with the Broken hand and the micro fracture surgery). These 2 players are the most important in the entire group because of the position they play: PG and Center.

Roy is the sure item and Aldridge is very nice as well but they too have had health concerns (Knee for Roy and Back for Aldridge) that may derail this team. But the biggest obstacle for MANY championships is not injury or development it is the Luxury tax and Salary Cap.

As an avid Oakland A’s fan I know about developing young talent that make a magical run o the playoffs only to falter during Championship series and to see your players team dismantled and rebuild (Giambi, Tejada, Ramon Hernandez, Hudson, Mulder, Zito, Swisher, Haren, Byrnes, and Harden) That is a lot of talent who in other markets could have developed into a dynasty.

Well the Portland fans are going to brace themselves for the inevitable. Some of this young talent will not reach their peak potential under a Blazers uniform. Kevin Pritchard has a tough road ahead of him. He needs to decide (as Billy Bean did when he chose to sign Eric Chavez and let the MVP Miguel Tejada go) who he will give a Max deal to and who he will not. Brandon Roye is a max player when healthy (if the Blazers don’t think so another GM will). Greg Oden is projected as a Max Player. Where does that leave the rest of the team? These are all young players who will not yet be financially secure enough to turn down the highest bidder. Granted LaFrenz’s contract will come off the books and maybe Batum is not an essential piece but one of the big name young players will go.

Pritchard and Nate MicMillan realize this and a possible championships is not out of reach. But San Antonio was able to continue its dynasty by keeping a core group and having good late pick drafts. Unless Greg Oden will be the next Shaq (meaning so much more dominant than the other centers in the league when he was making his Championships run), I have a hard time visualizing the Portland dynasty. This may be a pessimistic view and by no means am trying to criticize the job done in forming this group.   I must mention that I believe that the rebuilding of the Blazers was really well done.

    To all Portland fans:

    Enjoy while it lasts!

What happened to the bulls could happen again. They have alot of talented players, but are they all ready for their roles. Could they have to much talent, and players not ready to accept their roles. What happens if Batum Develops, but does not want to accept his role. In the end we will know in 3 years where they will be in 10 years, unless injurys kill them.

I gotta say, the Trail Blazers are the team to watch out for this coming season. I was surprised during the NBA Draft when they drawn in a handful of draft picks and moving players around. It was an huge overhaul in their roster, getting Jerryd Bayless, Nicholas Batum, Ike Diogu and signing Rudy Fernandez. With Oden back in the lineup, the anticipation to see this team play is building. Besides, Brandon Roy had an All-Star season with leading the Blazers to a hot streak early in the 07-08 season. Aldridge emerged as a solid player as well. But just like Eric_Guilleminault pointed out, “Can Oden stay healthy and dominant?…or can, “Bayless break out or develop into an NBA guard?” I hope so. Trailblazers has a talented roster, and we will see soon. Hopefully, maybe entering the Playoffs this coming season could be possible.

The Blazers have a chance to go after a title now they got Jerryd Bayless but Darius Miles if you keep him you making a risk of him getting another injury if you let him go your losing a great player and who is replace him. I like the Blazers they have young talent in Bayless Oden Roy Aldridge Batum Diogu Fernandez and Webster maybe not today maybe not tomorrow but in the future the Blazers are going to champions again.

I don’t think we have to worry about them becoming like the Bulls becauase the bulls problem was they had too many similar type players and always lacked an inside scorer. Not to mention they had alot of good players but not any outstanding player, the Trailblazers already have one with Roy and a potential superstar with Oden, not to mention Aldridge is the perfect complement to Oden as a post scorer. How many teams have two guys at 6’11” on the floor at one time, they could be scary. Even is Bayless isn’t a true point, Roy is a great passer too and having the ability of them to interchange in the backcourt only adds to their options.

yes and rite now u cant say oden is going to do this n do that hes still a rookie so i doubt them making a championship run this year they might even fall short of the play offs but kevin pritchard is a great gm

roy can be the sg n run the ball like a point

while bayless plays pg but his job isnt to handel the bull its to find way to get points as a scoring guard

n travis outlaw is the clutchest player on the team

plus dont 4get my Arizona standout changing fry
HE CAN SHOOT AND REBOUD HIS MID RANGE SHOT IS NO JOKE

OH YEA IF BAYLESS WAS A BETTER PLAYMEAKER N MORE OF A POINT GAURD HE WOULD HAVE WENT FIRST IN THIS DRAFT PORTLAND LUCKED UP

They do remind me of the Bulls from a couple years ago in the sense of alot of young talented guys on one team but Roy and Aldridge are better than anyone that those Bulls teams had. That being said the Blazers are in a tough Western Conference where they will have to beat Kobes Lakers and Duncans Spurs so thats going to be hard to overcome the next couple of years. Also Greg Odens development is very important, the team might not even be able to stay together because of the Luxury Tax and whatnot so it should be interesting to see what happens with them.

The blazers have incredible depth, youth, and a great leader in B Roy. This is very promising if Greg Oden stops being a baby.
