The Splash DocParticipantSeen it earlier and it works for both teams plus what one team could do after.
Nuggets get-Andre Igoudala
Sixers get- JR Smith
Nuggets get a great compliment for Carmelo and they become a better defensive team immediately.
Sixers get a young scorer off the bench which allows Young to play SF and Turner to play SG those 3 can rotate at 2/3 and Speights/Brand /Hawes can rotate at 4/5 with Holiday/Williams playing the 1
Philly would be set
Denver would need to replace JR’s scoring off the bench and they should make a play for Ben Gordon.
Detroit is looking to begin dumping salaries, Villanueva also has a bad contract but Denver has Harrington, Detroit also has a log jam at the wing and they need to get Daye, White and Stuckey minutes pus Hamilton , Prince and McGrady. Detroit could offer Hamilton instead but either way Denver should go after Gordon or Hamilton off the bench for scoring. Offering K-Mart gives Detroit 16mil off the books along with Prince, Hamilton(if they offer Gordon), and a few other FA’s. Denver may need to throw in Afflalo or a 1st Detroit might not take back Afflalo and may want a 1st for Gordon.
Andersen/Nene/Harrington at 4/5
Anthony/Igoudala/Gordon or Hamilton/Afflalo at 2/3
Billups/Lawson at 1
maybe will make Carmelo think twice

llperezdo you really think philly wants that badly to get rid of iggy, becasue he is clearly the better player between him and smith and this trade only makes sense if they are trying to clear cap space or minutes for turner and dont care about getting equal talent.

Charlie SheenParticipantThis makes great sense for Philly/Denver
now
Denver/Detroit that one is good also the Pistons have a big log jam at 2 and 3 and going with Wallace/Wilcox/Martin and Villanueva at 4/5 would be bad but if it dumps salary at the endof the year then go ahead
that would allow
2-Hamilton, Daye,White
3- Prince, McGrady,Jerebko
not as bad as 7 guys at 2 positions
Great Trade man Great Trade

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThat trade makes no sense.
A: Iggy is way better then JR Smith
B: The Contracts don’t add up
C: Smith doesn’t have that much trade value
D: Iggy has more value then just JR smith

The Splash DocParticipantIt clears room for Young and Turner…with Iggy signed through the next 4 years one could leave in FA in that time. JR is a solid guy not the best player but would make more sense in this new Philly system as the scorer off the bench. Iggy/Turner/Young just wont work all 3 should be starting but they all cant start together and so who could they move? Turner wont be traded Young is too good to let go now I say JR and a 1st gets that done

SwatLakeCityParticipantIf you really want this trade to go through, then the Nuggets are going to have to include 2 first round draft picks as well as Smith. The talent just doesn’t match up. The Sixers are not just willing to give Iggy a trade. I would actually consider trading Young instead of Iggy. He should start but he wont get that chance in Philly. Turner needs someone like him to develop and become the player that he can become. The season hasn’t even started yet and you are already writing him off. He just back from the World Championships (playing with Durant, Westbrook, Rose, Billups….. He had to have learned something there) and you wont even give him a chance? He and Turner might surprise and work well together just like Arenas and Wall might play well together. Teams will be more than willing to add Thad Young to their team. Much more than they would Iggy, because Iggy is the kind of guy where in order to get fair value you would have to trade away your star player. Young he’s good and a valuable piece but much tradeable because he is not on Iggy’s level and never will be.

Mr. 19134ParticipantAs a Sixers fan I can’t wait to see what Iggy and Turner can do together. But Iggy or Young probably have to go because Turner is the future and Young has put it too much work since he has arrived in Philly not to deserve a starting spot.
Speaking for most Sixer fans in this city who have watched both Iggy and Young over their careers we would rather keep Young then Iggy. Thad Young is only 22 and can play power forward and small forward equally well. Young also has another athleticism to play shooting guard if need be. But as I was looking at Synergy sports numbers I was most surprised to hear that Thad Young is more efficient at power forward then SF.
But Iggy straight up for JR don’t work. If the Nuggets were to go all in and try to get Melo to stay they should trade for Brand too who is a better low post scorer then Kenyon or Nene still. That Way Iggy and Brand for JR. Kenyon and trade filler would be a deal worth doing.

HitsterParticipantThe only way that Philly would consider that trade might be if Brand and K-Mart swapped places to free up Philly’s cap space but Denver won’t make any deals until they know what will happen with Melo.
If you are talking about Denver and Detroit and with Denver apparently after Hamilton, I wonder if Dumars said he’d do the deal if Billups came back the other way or Prince and J.R Smith both moved teams. That way Detroit clear SF minutes and SG minutes as Smith expires in 2011. Billups returns to his former team and provides veteran leadership, Stuckley moves to SG whilst Gordon remains as 6th man. Stuckley can run the point when Billups is off court so Smith can get minutes as well.
Denver get Hamilton who can upgrade their SF, Lawson can take over the point, Prince can play PF if Martin is out or would be a great 6th man and is a bigger expiring contract than J.R Smith.
Also with K-Mart being out of contract if Denver wanted to boost numbers then say one of Gordon or Charlie V and Chris Wilcox’s expiring deal could be sent instead of Prince and J.R Smith for example.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIggy is not being traded for any thing less than a good Center and a Shooter or 1st rounder…He has a lot of value as a great 2nd guy…Teams with top 10 teams picks may be in the mix next summer…Then Sixers could use Some cap relief and Brand is with us like it or not…But JR for Iggy straight up would not work in so many ways…1 is money and 2 is talent for talent Iggy is far more valuable than JR…
Now this deal may work for The Nuggets and Sixers
Jr and Birdman plus a 1st rounder in 2012 0r 2013 for Iguadola and Jodie Meeks
This Way The Nuggets can contend or have a Sg/Sf in place for the rebuild if Melo leaves this summer…A guy I see the Nuggets going for if that happens is Tayshaun Prince from the Pistons…If Melo leaves a Billups/Iguadola and Prince trio would be a nice core for the Nuggets to stay afloat out West…
The Sixers would have a good scorer in JR(who I think would be a nice fit in Philly) and a shot blocker(albeit a 6’10 220 pound Pf/C that’s been injured and in trouble before) and a draft pick in a year or 2…They clear Iggy’s longterm deal for Birdmans 5 million and JR can be resigned for about 5 million a year…they save a few million and get 2 role players…At that point they can trade Lou Williams(and is scoring off the bench) for a pass first back up point guard…This Deal does make us a lottery Team and I think that’s whats best for the Sixers in 2011…floating around 500 and fighting for the last spot in the playoffs is not a good move…we can play the young guys, gain chemistry, see what we have in Holiday,Turner,Young,Speights,Hawes,JR and Birdman with Brand and Nocioni has our veterans…A high draft pick and Starting Center would be ideal in the draft….if they get another top 3 pick…Kanter and Perry Jones are the best options for this Team…with Lou Williams and a guy like Nocioni being daggled in Trade talks…Kanter may be a starting Center and Jones coulod be the Star Forward they’d hoped Iggy and Brand would become…Sullinger and Brandon Knight are also options for them…

I’m not ripping you, but that’s a terrible deal for Philly. One, get off the future prospects. The Sixers have tons of them and haven’t won anything yet. Iggy is a legit guy. I like him, he’s more #3 then #2 for me and he’s taken and made big shots late.
JR Smith, Birdman and a low 20’s pick is not worth Andre Iguadala.
Also, can we all get off Evan Turner. He has not looked impressive yet. Have we ever thought: Maybe he needs time to develop and actually (GASP!) come off the bench?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 10/11/2010 - 9:26am #411008

Mr. 19134ParticipantI really like Kanter on the Sixers. Jones would be the best fit because he is so versatile and Holiday, Turner, Young, and Jones would be an exciting lineup. The Sixers really need a shot blocking big man tho. I’m wondering if we can’t ship Iggy to the Thunder who would fit in perfectly alongside Durant and Westbrook, and try and get Ibaka or Aldrich.
Ibaka got all the tools to become an elite defender in this league and would be a perfect fit on the Sixers with our style of play.
Think the Thunder would trade Jeff Green and Ibaka for Iggy and Mo Speights?

NYK2010ParticipantHow about this trade Shane Battier, Courtney Lee and the and Knicks 2012 1st rounder that the Rockets own for Iggy.
76ers get an expiring pick in Battier, Lee would be a nice backup and a draft pick. Rockets get a stud SF who can score a big upgrade over Batter and Iggy plays solid D too.
Rockets can handle Iggy’s long term contract since Jared Jeffries, Chuck Hayes and Yao are free agents most like 2 of them won’t be back next year esp. with Brad Miller, Jordan Hill and Scola locked up for a while.

HitsterParticipantPhilly managed to move Dalambert so they are under tax for this year, they have Kapono, Battie and Songaila all expiring next year and Nocioni has a 2012/13 team option so will become very tradeable as this season goes on, also they have some decent young bigs who could sweeten any trade deal they may look to make. I’d figure that unless they got a great offer for Iggy then they look to rebuild around him and Turner and hope one or two of the young bigs can come through this year. If they do struggle then they will likely have another decent draft pick again and come 2011 they will have around $50 million on the cap.
Brand is still the problem unless he could regain his LA Clippers form or until his contract starts to wind down. I cannot see an obvious trade for him unless Philly take on an equally bad contract.
