Or take a second risk(risk his health and risk someone stealing him) and trade to #5, and get Favors back. Favors is a better player than Thad but it comes down to whether they believe that Philly or Orlando would take Embiid at 3 or 4 or if they would trade down to someone that wants Embiid like Boston or LA.

 If I am the Cavs, I need more than that. As a Sixers fan, I would be happy for this deal to take place because it makes it more likely for Parker to go first leaving Wiggins to the Bucks where they may be willing to either take Exum or trade down with us for Exum.

I agree with you.  Favors is overrated due to his "potential".  He did have a good season last year (for him), 13pts and 9 rebs a game, but this is on a poor team.  Favors doesn’t have any real one on one go to post moves to score.  It’s either a put back or a catch and quick finish when his defender helps stop the penetrator.  He is too mechanical and I don’t see him developing his fluidity in the post offensively.  He is not a good post passer either.  However, he is a pretty decent rebounder on both sides of the floor, which is going to be his forte going forward in his career.

I don’t classify him as an elite athlete in the post, but he is  a little above average to me.  The injury problems with Favors are what would really deter me if I were Cleveland.  He has had lower back problems of late, which is not a good sign in big men.  

If I’m Cleveland, you use your #1 pick to draft Wiggins and be done with it. He actually has potential to be elite on both ends of the floor.

 If I’m Utah, there is no way I include more than Favors and 5…. I might not even do that. You’re going to get an all-star quality player at 5 in Randle, Vonleh, or Gordon, so unless you’re really sold on someone else (Parker OR WIGGINS) then I think you stay where you’re at.

 

Favors is a legit, quality big in this league, with athleticism and size. Think young Jermaine O’neal. Is going from 5 to 1 worth giving up a guy like that??? Tough call. If you think Wiggins/Parker is a SUPERSTAR, you do this deal if you’re Utah… but if not, then Keep Favors and go get one of those three quality bigs I already mentioned.

 I admit For Never Ever, a young Jermaine O’neal is not the best comparison for Favors. I compare Favors to Al Horford. When healthy, the Hawks were 3rd place in the East. Had Horford been healthy all year, the Hawks would have competed and been a better opponent for the Heat then the Pacers were who went south after the all star break. If Horford is healthy next year and Lebron stays with the Heat, (which is what I expect to happen) Then I think Atlanta and Washington could be serious contenders to the Heat. More so Atlanta because they would be a veteran team while Washington would be a young, up and coming team. 

The Jazz had bad coaching last year, yet Favors was still able to average 13pts, 9 boards and about 1.5 blocks per game. Those are darn good numbers considering the bad coaching Utah had last year. Now that they have a legitamate coach, I expect Favors to average about 16 pts, 10.5 boards, 2 blocks a game. 

So if the Jazz decide to do this trade they are giving up a legitamate double double threat with 2 blocks per game guy in order to get a Mormon who could probably average 15-16 a game with 3-4 boards and .3 blocks per game in his rookie season. Put those averages with what Kanter might average next year (I’m thinking 15 and 8 with .5 blocks per game and it doesn’t look so good. So for me, I would not trade Favors just to get Parker. Now if the Cavs are willing to include Tristan Thompson in the deal as well then I might consider but definitely not with just Favors and #5 pick for #1 pick. If I were the Jazz, I would want the Cavs to offer Thompson and the #1 pick for Favors, #5 pick and #23 pick, before I even consider moving Favors to get Parker.

I actually think that LeBron would rather play with Andrew Wiggins than Embiid.  Wiggins can help LeBron with perimeter D.  Wiggins can slash more, and take over some of the scoring load.  Embiid might also clog up the middle for LeBron’s drives. 

Also, hey, if the Cavs get Wiggins AND LeBron then that would give them a bunch of talent at 1-4 (LeBron, Wiggins, Kyrie Irving, Sugar Dion Waiters, and Anthony Bennett).  Next year is a big man draft anyway, so why not go with WCS as a shot blocker/dunker type in the Tyson Chandler mold?  If they resign Andy V, then Side "Show" Andy, Tyler Zeller, and WCS would be a pretty good 3 center rotation.
