I dont know about Tracy McGrady being that high. I don’t think he’s right above Clyde Drexler and above other players like Kevin McHale, Reggie Miller, Bob Lanier, Robert Parish and James Worthy. You should also remember that Tracy McGrady’s best statistical seasons came when he was playing for the Orlando Magic in the early 2000s. He was a good player in a very mediocre team. The second option on offense was an aging Juwan Howard at the time. For the 2003-2004 season, they even ended up with the one of the worst records in the league and that’s how they got Dwight Howard in the draft.

Not a bad list — one of the best I’ve seen. I would put Isiah Thomas lower and Gary Payton higher, though.

i just glanced through it, but how the heck is danny ainge at 122? He averaged 11.5ppg for his career and he never hit 16ppg until he played on some of the worst kings teams ever. No way on earth is he ahead of mitch richmond or alonzo mourning. Actually, just make it simple, no way on earth is he top 150.

    Tracy McGrady is Too High.
Allen Iverson shouldn’t be below Nash..but that may be biased & Nash isn’t Top 40.
I don’t know if I’d put Dwight that high either..
If we go by Talent, VC is okay I suppose..if not..I think Ray Allen deserves some more credit. & I don’t see Paul Pierce below Allen or Vince either.

Your list is great. They’re your opinions, so why some people are being so critical is beyond me.

But, if you actually care what my opinion is, I’ll tell you-

Gilmore at 31 is a great pick, some people might say you’ve got him too high, but that’s because they exclude his ABA years.

I think Wade is way too high. Sorry. I honestly don’t think he’d crack my top 75… maybe 100. I know he has a ring, but he did it with a still productive Shaq against a mentally weak team in Dallas in a down year. His career since that time has shown that he’s a great one man show, but he can’t even get out of the first round….

Kobe at 8 is fine. I wouldn’t listen to the Laker lover above, his views are clearly biased.

Haywood is too high. Maybe top 100.

    Neil Johnston? No.

McHale is WAY TOO low, so is the Pearl.

I love the Z Beaty pick.

In general, there are a few of the guys on this list that I think don’t deserve to be, but it’s a fun list, and I think you did a good job.

This list is great???? I bet this clown has never even seen most of the players that he has in the top 8. He or she is just going off of hearsay. Has this guy seen Mikan play???? Why do you people even watch basketball if your really going to put Wilt ahead of Kobe?? It’s absoutely laughable. You can really sit here and say that Larry Bird was a better player than Kobe?? Give me a fu$kin break.

This is nothing but a fake hearsay list. This list will be passed down genreation to generation just by hearsay. How did you know that Wilt was the 3rd best player of all time? Did someone tell you that, or did you live in that generation to actually witness it?

i’ve watched and studied the history of the game as much as i could. Basically after jordan, number 2 is a huge toss up. I put kobe and anybody saying it clearly isnt kobe is crazy. ANybody saying it clearly is kobe is crazy. Its very argumentitive.

bill russell played in an era when there was like 8 teams and nobody was turning a profit so the cletics were able to get most the top talent.

wilt put up silly numbers but he never won a title until he took a backseat role and became like the third best palyer with jerry west and gail goodrich.

Magic had tons of help and didnt play a lick of defense, but he did win and change the face of the game with his personanlity.

Bird was great and dominanted his era. Probelm is could he be a mvp intodays era?

Oscar robertson was a guard with range out to about 15 feet. His teams often missed the playoffs while he was getting triple doubles.

Kareem, honestly nothing bad to say about him. He did his thing and i could defenitely see why people would put him ahead of kobe.

ANyways, i already know people wil say you are a nuthugger and how dare you diss these legends. Truth is put your rankings however you want. I put kobe at number 2 and that doesnt make me right or smarter, but im just expalingin why.

I’m just gonna throw in some love for a couple of the best defenders of all time and multiple time all-stars. I think they both deserve a spot on this list.

Sidney Moncrief – 5 time all-star. Made the All-NBA first team once and was a second teamer four times (no easy feat when he was competing with Magic, Isiah Thomas and George Gervin for the guard spots). Two time Defensive Player Of The Year and 4 time All-Defensive first team. He could also score, averaging over 20 points per game in 4 seasons and over his entire career shot 50.2% from the field and 83.1% from the line, impressive numbers for a guard.

Dikembe Mutombo – 19 years in the NBA, played until he was 42. Eight time All-star and four time Defensive Player Of The Year. 10.3 RPG and 2.8 BPG for his career.

shaq at 6 is questionable, imo. he is the most dominant force i have seen play live basketball but here are a few questions that need to be asked shaq or duncan, shaq or bird, shaq or hakeem, who was better in all of them because many argue hakeem was better, duncan and shaq have the same amount of rings, and bird did things that only the elite have done. this isnt a matter of skill its a matter of career accomplishments.
