ropeParticipantThis article trys to rank the top 100 players in college. Here are a few thoughts and questions.
First, I was struck when I saw Le’Bryan Nash as low as he is. I know he hasn’t lived up to his ranking out of HS and maybe I still haven’t gotten over the hype.
I think Brandon Ashley is too low. My guess is he will be foundation player of a team that should be awfully good. I definitely don’t see him 20 spots lower than Brando Dawson. (This coming from an MSU fan)
Ranking freshman would seem really tough. See Le’Bryan Nash for proof. Jahlil Okafor and Stanley Johnson are the 1st and 2nd best players in college basketball? That might be true, but let’s let the kids play a few games before they climb this high,
If I was looking for players that will be ranked much higher by the end of the season, I’d take AJ Hammons and Rasheed Suliamon as players that will likely rank higher by the end of the year, I think that Hammons will final start to inch toward his potential and Suliamon will get his groove back after a disappointing year.
What are your thoughts on players too low, about ranking freshmen on a list like this and players that will make a substantial jump during the season,?

kazamParticipantI think Chris Walker is incredibly high on this list- I wasnt sure at first glance whether the lists intention was for the best current college basketball players or best future guys currently playing. Either way, Walker is too high.
I would have to say Sam Dekker is being a bit disrespected- 33 isnt bad but I think he is a top 15 type player in NCAA this season. Potential all american after a summer of praise from every camp he attended.

ropeParticipantI almost mentioned him. too. He idd nothing last year, though some of that was Donovan not wanting to screw with the chemistry of a good team. They would appear to be ranking him on the basis of physical tools and we all know how that can work out. I just don’t see him playing well enough to support that ranking. That being said none of this will probably prevent him from being a prospect on NBA ddraft radars.

Lotto StudParticipant- I like Rodney Purvis a lot, but I can admit he’s ranked too high for a prospect guy, that had sat out a whole season.
- Dorian Finney-Smith’s ranking is a bit too steep for what he brings to the game in Billy Donovan’s system. In HS, ‘Doe Doe’ was the primary scorer/ball handler. For him to contribute in other areas such as rebounding on both ends of the floor, getting to the line more than last year’s primary scorer in Scottie Wilbekin. That has to speak for a lot in progressions.

Skeating12345ParticipantThought maybe the player who could potentially be the all-time leader in steals this year would be on the list.

CU.LIONSParticipantI’d like to review this list after the season just to see how off this list will be
