NBA buzz has been about “6-12” Kevin Garnett and the Celtics or 6’11 manchild Dwight Howard. We’ve got nothing against those fellas but their sheer size makes them hard to relate at times. So it is my pleasure to present to you the top 10 players we could see eye to eye with.

10. Greg Grant – a 5’7 PG drafted 52nd overall by the Suns in 1989… He was the smallest player ever to play for the Land of the Orange.

9. Damon Stoudamire- The former Rookie of the Year (1996) is only 5’10 but his shooting stroke and speed makes him hard to stop early in his career while playing for Toronto and Portland…

8. Michael Adams- Adams has one of the craziest shots the NBA has ever seen but still, he averaged 14 ppg in his career including an astonishing 26.5 ppg while at Denver in 1991.

7. Earl Boykins- Gotta hand it to little Earl for making it into the Big League. He went undrafted but as they say, the league will always have a place for a small guy with a big heart. At just 5’5, Boykins can knock jumpers consistently and is one of those players that is pretty much reliable in his journeyman career.

6. Calvin Murphy- #23 of the Houston Rockets is only 5’9 but his uncanny skills has made him one of Houston’s pride. Thus, sealed his fate as a Hall of Famer for the Rockets. He finished his 13-year career garnering 17,000 points all with the Rockets. Pretty cool…

5. Nate “Tiny” Archibald- The 6-time All-Star and 1 Time NBA Champ with the C’s has one of the best PG skills back in the day despite his 5’10 frame. He has faced the likes of Oscar Robertson and has teamed up with Larry Bird. Tiny is definitely in this list.

4. Nate Robinson- People might misunderstand his passion as cockiness but there’s no denying that 5’9 Kryptonate is the real deal. He recently captured his 2nd Slam Dunk Title dunking on Superman Dwight.

3. Mugsy Bogues- He is the shortest player ever to play in the NBA at 5’3 but there’s no doubt that he belonged in the NBA. Despite his short frame, he manage to block 39 shots in his rookie year including one against Patrick Ewing. He had played for 4 NBA Teams and has had a solid NBA Career.

2. Allen Iverson- This guy is listed at 6’0 but he is probably shorter than that probably at 5’10-5’11 at best. Everyone knows that AI will be named as one of the greatest to have ever played the game and is one of the crowd-favorite especially in Philly. His mix of streetball and finesse plus the will to win garnered him the 2001 NBA MVP plus a trip to the NBA Finals that year.

1. Spud Webb- The shortest player to win the NBA Slam Dunk Title at 5’7. Spud is definitely garnering respect even until now. He has had a solid NBA journey but perhaps the 1986 Slam Dunk duel with teammate Dominique Wilkins will be the most memorable if you ask any NBA Fan.

“Tiny” was in fact 6’1

Archibald, a playground legend while growing up in a rough-and-tumble neighborhood in the South Bronx, New York City, only played high school basketball for one-and-a-half seasons, and was cut from the varsity squad at DeWitt Clinton High School as a sophomore.[1] He returned to the team as a junior. During his time without basketball, Archibald briefly flirted with dropping out of school after having been largely truant in past years. But with the help of two mentors, Floyd Layne and Pablo Robertson, Archibald turned it around. Robertson, a former standout at Loyola of Chicago and a Harlem, NY, playground impressario, had seen the gifted, mercurial Archibald in action on the playgrounds and convinced the young man’s high school coach to re-instate him on the squad. Despite only playing in blowouts as a junior, the shy, quiet teen managed to blossom into a high-school star, being named team captain and an All-City selection in 1966.

the first 3 should definately be tiny, allen iverson, and calvin murphy, spud is only famous for winning the dunk contest. nate robinson is probably 5 behind the first 3 and damon stoudemire then spud then earl boykins then whoever else. look it up, calvin murphy could be the best scorer ever inch by inch.
