SubZeroParticipantI have one question….
Why? I can’t remember the last time I’ve enjoyed watching him or Houston. How anyone likes watching him drive and throw himself into guys or how the refs keep bailing him out is beyond me. I can only hope and pray the league decides to do something about it because it’s the ugliest ball I’ve ever seen played by a superstar in my life. He’s a great talent but like a third of his game is centered on free throws

XYRYXParticipantHe is the best stand still basketball player ever and his other great talent is to get to the line. Do I like it? Heck no, it’s horrible to watch and the free throw thing along with his obvious travels on step backs and drives is embarrassing to see when it’s not called like it never is.
Somehow it has to be respected, that he is bending the rules like this since he comes away with it but the officiating is so poor and the league should really decide if it wants to save/secure the fundamentals of the game or bail out the star players in the long run.

negguaryParticipantdecided not to secure that game and fundamentals when they started taking defense out ye game and making all the rules catered to higher offensive performances with the hopes of increasing ratings.

whiteflashParticipantHe is most certainly not the "best standstill basketball player ever". He’s not the best ever at anything other than getting unbelievably ridiculous foul calls going his way. Everything about his game is off-putting. It’s like rally sh!++y pickup ball. Like someone else wrote, I don’t want the Rockets to win ’cause I’d HATE for that style to be applauded. This is coming from a native Houstonian.

CynthiaParticipantI don’t like him or Houston too much, but hey if they can beat the Warriors I’m fine with that. Lesser of two evils.
0- Posted on: Thu, 05/24/2018 - 6:53pm #1117742

SubZeroParticipantI’m honestly to the point where I’d rather see Golden State win again than see Houston win once. I don’t wanna see that style of play be rewarded

negguaryParticipantlike your still a little salty that harden left and presti didn’t pay the Lux tax for him but fast forward five years and you guys still ended up going into The lux tax for a far superior roster then what you guys could have had
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/25/2018 - 4:34am #1117775

SubZeroParticipantAnd you sound very assuming. Out of all the things that’s happened to OKC over the years, that’s not what I’m mad about. You didn’t see me here complaining about him a few years ago
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/25/2018 - 9:44am #1117790

negguaryParticipantLike I would rather see the warriors win, an unfair super team that is really bad for The league as oppposed to a guy who is using his ability within the confines of the rules to win and close the gap is an angry comment! Stop! But I actually am a fan of your posts so I apologize if I came off harsh!
0- Posted on: Sat, 05/26/2018 - 11:05am #1117846
brodiejayParticipantIt’s not an angry comment if that’s how he feels. For the record, I feel exactly the same way. The Warriors are fun to watch. As much as I don’t like the way KD joined them, their style of play is really entertaining and they share the ball the way basketball is supposed to be played.
Other than KD joining them, The Warriors built their team from the ground up. They drafted Steph, Klay, and Draymond. I’m Australian, so I don’t have any city bias… but I have no animosity towards the Warriors.
Harden is awful to watch. The way he plays is bordering on "against the spirit of the game". It’s not technically illegal but it’s certainly unethical. Trying to draw fouls instead of trying to shoot the ball… just… sucks.
I’d rather any team in the league win over Houston, and I used to love the Rockets before Harden arrived.
Hakeem was one of my favourite players growing up and Yao was one of my favourite players of the 2000s. I chose Rockets uniforms for my basketball team I played in a few years ago. It’s just Harden.
A lot of people are going to dislike the way Harden plays. That doesn’t mean we’re angry, it’s just our personal opinion.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI get what your saying but believe it or not getting fouled or making it appear you got fouled is a huge talent in itself. It’s a skill that pretty much all the great scorers in the league have had. I know it may not always be pretty but there is an art to what harden does and he has perfected it perhaps more than any player in history. If it was that easy to do, everyone would do it.

ChoppyParticipant"making it appear you got fouled is a huge talent in itself."
No, not really, at least none that I want to see. At worst, it’s flopping. Marcus Smart is very talented at that. At best it’s an illusion trick. If want to watch that, I’ll watch David Copperfield re-runs.
0- Posted on: Thu, 05/24/2018 - 9:55pm #1117751

negguaryParticipantWe’re saying that bending the rules To your advantage is a problem now
When all he greats did it?!! Stop it! Look at any great player from any area and you will find a loophole they found and how they used it to their benefit!
0- Posted on: Thu, 05/24/2018 - 11:28pm #1117755

ChoppyParticipantI guess I don’t have a problem with Harden doing it as such, I have more of a problem with the rules that allow it. He gets bailed out by refs on nearly every drive to the basket. I wish they’d stop calling it so much and he might try something different. For someone so offensively talented, he doesn’t have to work hard for the majority of his points. They’re given to him by refs bailing him out.
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/25/2018 - 1:18am #1117759
Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantIf you think harden is not working hard for his points than you don’t understand basketball. All the great scorers in the league know how to bait the defense into fouling them and the refs to call it.

ChoppyParticipantThere’s a difference between drawing contact on a drive and the phantom calls he gets a lot of the time. Some contact is inevitable when you play. I’ve seen Harden drive to the hoop, someone brushes his arm, he misses the shot and the defender gets called for a foul. I’ve also seen the same thing from players not named Harden or James and you know what? No foul. Refs have always erred on the side of bailing out stars, but with Harden and James it seems to be a lot more pronounced.

ChoppyParticipantThis was what I was talking about when I posted in the Pet Peeves thread the other day. Ref bail outs of star players. Can’t stand it, but it’s not only Harden (he is the biggest recipient of bail out calls though). LeBron gets heaps of calls, especially late in games, and has been known to travel and flop too.

negguaryParticipantlol

Bird_YearsParticipantLebron’s treatment used to be a travesty but I want to give credit where it’s due and I’ve thought the East playoffs has been reffed mostly fairly (Lebron did get a little love againt Toronto though).

RUDEBOY-ParticipantYeah all that dribbling can be a bit much. That’s not watchable basketball. I can’t remember which game it was this series. But It was documented that Harden had 550 dribbles. KD,Curry and Klay, had 549 combined.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantSay what you want about his techniques…he has dunked on draymond twice this series.

TRC1991Participant0-11 from 3 yet he’ll win the MVP…? LeBron should win it. Nobody else in the NBA takes Bron’s supporting cast to the playoffs let alone the eastern conference finals
0- Posted on: Thu, 05/24/2018 - 9:56pm #1117752

negguaryParticipantEmbeast would lol
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/25/2018 - 11:18am #1117796
whiteflashParticipantWhat? Embiid had a better supporting cast and got bounced in the 2nd round. That makes no sense.

XYRYXParticipantLeBron ist great no question but his supporting cast is not as bad as people say. Maybe his hero ball / totally ball dominant Westbrook style of play is part of the problem.
There is nobody alse there creating and and very few guys get 10 shots per game and last time I checked most of the people were fine with what the Cavs brought in after the deadline trade. Let’s not act as his team is totally terrible but maybe not good assembled and for sure no real offensive gameplan aside from let LeBron do his thing and see what happens.

GronounoursParticipantWhat does this 0-11 from 3 have to do with the regular season?

weballin.netParticipantit’s not possible to have 48min of one on one basketball like yesterday. Same for Chris Paul. Overdribbling and shooting threes in half the attacks is not a good way to promote this game. And the worse thing is that the Rockets won.
0- Posted on: Fri, 05/25/2018 - 10:44am #1117793

negguaryParticipantis the warriors dominating with four all stars good for the game??? Stop!!!!

Andrew1984ParticipantIs it me, or did he look drunk last night?
He seriously could not run in a straight line without losing his balance or colliding with someone, even teammates!
I think it’s his being a fellow southpaw that makes me like him, but he certainly has a history of producing his worst performances at the most critical times.
