jerb2011Participant"They acquired Oladipo with the idea of making him a sixth man — the new Harden — instead of jamming him alongside Westbrook into a starting five with zero proven above-average NBA 3-point shooters. They remain interested in bigger wings, including Rudy Gay, sources say, in part because such a player would slide everyone down to their intended spots: Oladipo to the bench, and Andre Roberson back to defending shooting guards." via ESPN
Earlier, a trade of Rudy Gay for Cameron Payne almost went through before Payne’s foot injury. And further reading stated that a Jerami Grant/healthy Cameron Payne combo could be in the works for a Rudy Gay-like player for the SF position. Idk about Rudy Gay, but Idk of too many teams with tradable wings. I doubt Gordon Hayward is willing to leave after the team the Jazz has assembled.
I wonder what a package of Cameron Payne and (possibly) Enes Kanter could bring them.
Thoughts?

SubZeroParticipantI really like Payne and feel like Christon is just not very good, but we could also really use some more scoring. Gay would add some and Oladipo would feast off the bench

jerb2011ParticipantSemaj Christon plays like he is auditioning for other teams, if that makes sense

CynthiaParticipantThe only reason Christon made the final cut is because Payne got injured, he’s garbage. I like Payne and all but even healthy I can’t see him being traded for Gay straight up, I’d rather not get rid of Jerami Grant, he brings some energy and athleticism that most of the Thunder don’t have outside of Westbrook. Kanter could be an option, I actually really like him despite 99% of the rest of this forum hating him. I just feel like OKC doesn’t utilize him to his potential, he gets great production in short minutes, he just needs more minutes.
Overall I wouldn’t mind having Gay in OKC, but I also feel like he would just be a filler until they sign someone better and/or younger. Tons of money to spend, and tons of free agents coming up…

Hype MachineNo good free agents are going to OKC. They’re a bottom 5 destination.
They should have traded KD and Westbrook when they had the chance. Now theyre in limbo.

ThunderHog35ParticipantI’m with you Grant should stick around. If they don’t trade Kanter for an expiring like Gay, they really won’t have any money to spend next summer outside of the Mid-Level. If they were to trade Kanter that’s a lot of extra possesions they probably won’t be getting as frequently.
I’m not big on Gay but he would fit a need. I tried to come up with others that might fit and could therotically be available but I’m not sure the assets would be there for a trade in some cases.

jerb2011ParticipantSam is ideally looking for a guy 6’8+ to move the 6’7 Roberson back to SG. So out of the players listed, I like Rudy Gay, Marcus Morris, Tobias Harris (if available), Robert Covington, Wilson Chandler, (a healthy) Gallinari, and Joe Ingles.
