I was wondering why teams were signing so many players to training camp..Knowing that the league minimum was 15…

Some teams have 13 players with guaranteed contracts..And 6 players fighting for the final 2 spots..

Well a new NBA rules allows teams to send 3 players to their D-League Affiliate…

this will alow some teams to keep an eye on a player’s developement..

So what you’re saying is that teams are actually allowed to keep 18 players on their roster as long as 3 of them are really playing for their D League affiliates?  I really like that idea but I wanna take it a step further by now every team should have their own D League team.  Not only that players should be allowed to come out of high school because I see really no logic behind making a player go to college for a year.  College is for education.  And how is it that foreigners are allowed to enter the league at 18.  Havin said that I due believe going to college benefits most players.

But the league should have a farm system similar to hockey and baseball.  I believe that route would be best for the sport.

is absolutley a good idea and having each team own a "farm team" would help teams plan for both the present and potential. However, it always comes down to the almighty dollar. If the D-league can prove they can keep exciting players in their league then their ticket sales go up and then owners might be more inclined to get in on the action.

Why should BASKETBALL PLAYERS have to pretend to be students for a full year before they can do their job? Not only do they have to pretend but some have to cheat inorder to fit into an educational organization instead of fitting into an athletic organization (possible d-league teams here?).

Yea i think it could work bcause dere b more top star goin dere 2 learn and get better den goin 2 college. They can add a little bit more game 4 the player get a lil familir 2 the workin of  a NBA life. They could try 2 can let the player who do want 2 go 2 college do both, it could helpin dem pay 4 the school.

Why do you call him "bloody gaines"  I call him the sun is shining when he makes a good play, and the sun is not shining when he makes a terrible play!

I dunno. I just started shouting "YADA ‘BLOODY’ GAINES", whenever he would take the ball to the hole. Dude is sick.

Another good nickname I heard is Sunny D, but Yada "Bloody" Gaines is my favorite.

I shout at my TV all the time when the Jazz are playing. My family thinks I’m going insane.

for gaines the jazz signed watson, I don’t see him taking the 3rd string from ronnie price.  Although i think price will see alot of action at the 2 gaurd leaving a little time for gaines. maybe. Looks like backe to the Dleague for "bloddy gaines"  I do like how he takes the ball to the hoop strong. but sunny D have a free throw problem.

players have always had the option to go to the nbdl out of highchool if they didnt want to go to college so that is nothing new. The reason most dont and probably still wont is becasue going to college is better for marketing yourself both as a prospect where you get to player against weaker comp as well as name recognition and the potential endorsments that come with people seeing your face on tv all season in college something that wont happen in the dleague.
