I don’t like to do these, but I’ve been pondering recently… with sacramento’s success…why would they want to bring kevin back when he’s healthy? With kevin martin in the lineup, the kings were 1-4. they’re now…what..5-8? I’ve loved the chemistry and the team play the kings have been doing. The effort they bring to the floor for 48 minutes a game is impressive.

The trade is between NY and Sac.

    NY receives
    *kevin martin – 9.7 million
*kennny thomas – 8.8 million, expiring contract
*donte greene – 870,000. all 3 players adding up to roughly 19.33 million.

    Kings receive
    *al harrington
    *jared jefferies, 6.6 million
    *jordan hill, 2.5 million

I had to rewrite the knicks side of the trade due to curry having the opportunity to opt or not opt out at the end of this year. Harrington’s contract is expiring and roughly the same amount as currys.

if you replace Hill with someone else, this is not that bad of a trade because Kings can afford to wait a year before they need cap space.

also, the knicks don’t have a first round pick.

so picking up martin out of the deal… letting curry’s contract go and only losing jefferies and hill.

the year after this year… Which is 11.7 instead of the 10.5 you have posted… The Knicks would do this in a heart beat if they can save money… But I doubt the Kings would… With Hawes and Thompson down low, no need for 2 bums down there… Well 3 because I still think Hill is going to be a bust, but its still early…

where i’m reading he’s expiring. if he’s not….then the whole thing goes right out the window.

sigh, for a moment, this looked really good. btw, the kings desperately need help behind hawes and thompson, personally, i don’t believe hawes is starter quality.

i noticed on another site, that he has a play option for 10-11 for 11 million…i think he’ll take the money and not opt that year. i don’t think the kings would do the trade now.

so, instead of having curry apart of it, i put in harringtons contract. it’s expiring and the kings would get some help at PF atleast.

the money doesn’t matchup if we change what i’m doing to what you want to do.

actually, if i change curry to harrington, it works out. but i can’t change jefferies.

I do agree that they should trade Kevin Martin, hes still pretty valuable…and could get some helpful YOUNG peices, to build around

But I dont like that trade for the Kings(see..im not all bias..), feel like they can get more in return, Hill is a good peice, but they seem to like Thompson ALOT

imo, This is a definite no for Sacramento

But I think the Knicks would decline this one also…you dont just trade rookies after a month…give them time to develop, especially lottery picks

So the Kings give up the best player in the trade, Martin, for Harrington even though they have a plethora of average forwards. They also give up Greene and get Jared “thank God for the Knicks or I wouldn’t be in the NBA” Jeffries and Jordan Hill. Greene has more potential than Hill and is playing better than both Hill and Jeffries. I would even go so far as to say if Greene got Harrington minutes he would be putting up close to the same numbers.A few less points, a few less boards but nothing so insane you give up him PLUS Kmart…
So this must mean the only benefit is salary room. Can anyone explain to me why the Kings would want salary space? WHO are they going to sign? Do you really give up Martin and Greene for space hoping you can sign someone even though nobody worth mentioning has ever signed with Sac? I think the Kings may use Thomas’s contract to bring in talent.
These dream trades you guys make up are ridiculous. Why in the world would the Kings do this?? You can’t say to save money because people are starting to show up to the games, you pull a trade like this nobody will come. EVER.
You think the Kings are TRYING to get rid of Martin because they won 4 in a row? They’ve also just lost 4 in a row. There are a lot of teams that can have a nice short little run after their best player is hurt, but wait for the long run. The only way the Kings trade Martin is for an upgrade.
YOU DON’T JUST DUMP A YOUNG 25+ PPG PLAYER FOR KNICKS TRASH!!
