ProudGrandpaParticipantWhich of these lineups wins:
C-Pachulia
PF-Ilysova
SF-Middleton
SG-Knight
PG-Wolters
or
C-Henson
PF-Adrien
SF-Antetokounmpo
SG-Mayo
PG-Sessions
Because the first one is the Bucks starting lineup this evening and the second is their bench and I would argue that the bench is where the better group of players is. To their credit, a lot of the bench guys have gotten over 20 minutes of action tonight, but the game has been a blowout so that’s no surprise.

The QParticipantEven as a UConn grad I’m surprised Jeff Adrien is in the NBA.
His toughness is vastly overrated. See his game against Michigan St in the Final Four.

GrandmamaParticipantYeah I’m a UConn fan too… was never a fan of his upside in the NBA. Loved him at UConn, just isn’t NBA material. I guess he can succeed as a hustle/energy/rebounding type coming off the bench. But he shouldn’t be playing more than 10mpg.

GrandmamaParticipantI’ve been paying close attention to their lineups because I’ve got Henson, Illyasova, and Middleton on my fantasy team. It’s baffling to me how much Pachulia plays. He’s getting like 25mpg I bet. Henson is a beast, I don’t know why he isn’t starting/getting more run. Pachulia isn’t a part of their future, while Henson is a major part. Why is Zaza starting over Henson is my major question?
And Giannis not getting much run lately doesn’t make much sense either. He needs to be in the starting lineup too.
I’m with you. I have no clue what they’re doing with their lineups, and not playing these young guys as much as possible.

machu46ParticipantPachulia is a great piece if you’re actually trying to win games. I’ve been really impressed with the way he plays. Obviously he isn’t going to stuff the stat sheet or anything, but he’s a more disciplined defender than Henson, and he’s just a good chemistry guy on the floor.
I agree though that Henson should be getting playing time over him considering there’s at least a chance Henson is a part of their future.

joecheck88ParticipantIt just seems that most teams this bad are destined for the 4th pick in the draft. At least the other bad teams are trying. GA and Henson should be starting for the experience. Experience is the only good thing to come out of this season in Milwaukee. Put GA out there on the other teams best offensive wing and let him take some beatings but compete. He doesn’t seem like a kid with confidence issues.

Jester87ParticipantMayo is been horrible, he might be better than Wolters and Knight on paper, but he’s been bricking his way to the doghouse and he’s never been known for his tough defense. With him on the floor the Bucks have been outscored by 14.6 points per 100 possessions, only 4.9 when he’s out. He’s been a cancer. While Nate Wolters has surprisingly good plus-minus numbers, probably because he’s the only guy with playmaking skills in their roster. Also Pachulia playing over Henson shows they’re trying to win, Pachulia is a much better defender than Henson. He has no upside and he doesn’t put up great stats, but he works his butt off on every play, is a tough defender and does a lot of little things that don’t show up in the stat sheets but help you win games or at least try. Of course he would be better as a back up on a decent team, but again, we’re talking about the league’s worst team.
