With all the uncertainty concerning Tristan Thompson and whether he has entered the NBA draft, I wanted to find out the truth.

So I went to google and typed in a simple question: Has Tristan Thompson declared for the 2011 NBA Draft? What I got were all reports saying, yes. There was one report that said "no, he is staying in school" but then quickly cited another source saying that he has decided to declare for the draft. http://www.big12hoops.com/2011/4/7/2097149/nba-draft-declared-selby-morris-alec-burks-big-12

Here are some other sources saying that he has indeed declared for the 2011 NBA draft:

These are all legitamate sources, and none of them appear to have it mixed up with North Texas’ Tristan Thompson so it appears most of us are wrong and should get him back into our mocks. It looks like this site was right after all.

I’ve never heard of Barking Carnival. Thats a legitamate source? The bleacher report doesn’t say they have a source and real Gm is run by the same peopel who runs this site if i’m not mistaken.

I Think they are both gone and could go pretty high

Barking Carnival is not one of the sources I listed. I listed RealGM, Big 12 hoops, and Bleacher Report. I’ve heard ther reports saying that Jordan Hamilton is 100% gone and Tristan is 97% gone, and then it said that once Jordan declares, Tristan is soon to follow.

Thompson had a great freshman season, even better than I expected, but he should not have declared for the draft. Hamilton is a much more polished all-around player but is not really a superior athlete so it would be wise for him to enter now.

If he has declared the NBA people must not know about because he’s still not on the official list of those who declared. Might be in his best interest to declare now. Could go high lotto and he’s not very skilled just very athletic and hard worker, stock might not get much higher than it is now( if he was more skilled then i’d say stay)

Yes, I did read the sources I cited, cward, but no where do I see that Bleacher Report says they have "no source" That one is a top 50, with Tristan being #9 and then it says right in the explanation that he has declared and signed with an agent.

Yes, the Big 12 does say they get their info from Barking Carnival but this is Big 12 hoops, they themselves have to be legitamate, so their sources also needs to be legitamate, in order for Big 12 to be legit, which then makes Barking Carnival legitamate. Both Tristan Thompson and Jordan Hamilton have declared for the 2011 NBA draft.

When I type it in I also find a buch reporting it but everyone sites Nbadraft.net so its a circle that leads back here, and I am not saying it isn’t true.

I was just about to put that. When you look it up it seems like it all comes back to this site as the original source. This site must have some very good connections to the situation. I also saw alot of other sites doubting that this site has a source. I wonder if they end up being right will all the other sites apologize since they will look pretty stupid for doubting this site( other way around if this site has it wrong)

Basically there is no “truth” about either coming out or staying in untill the deadline passes or they come out and make a statement. Everything up untill then is just hearsay

Thompson declared for the draft because Sullinger, as well as a few other top prospects, are staying in school. He’ll (possibly) get more money by declaring this year.

@ robertfreeman: I read the Dallas one and in it does indeed say that they get their info from this site, but then it also says this: "Burnt Orange Nation’s Peter Bean said today that he contacted the site to ask about the possible confusion. He was told that there is no mistake."

So yes, he has indeed declared, bleacher report says it, big 12 hoops says it, real gm says it, this site says it, dallas sbnation says it. What more proof do you need?

Real gm is run by this site( or vice versa) And all those sites say it yet the NBA delcare list still has him undeclared and they update the list daily. You actually have to contact the NBA in and tell them you are in which Neither player has done so that might be why people are asking for more proof. none of these sites yu have named arent the big sites like USA today, ESPN, Cnnsi. So that might be why people are still questioning and rightfully so.

Untill its official theres is no 100percent right or 100percent wrong

I saw that but what I am saying is everyone got there info from the same person, this site, most of the time a bunch of other sites get the info from various sources the only source I have ever seen mentioned on any site is Aran Smith, so all the other sites are just going by what he has said assuming he has the right info, again not saying he is wrong.

Does wardb12 understand that all of those links he gave us have the same ‘source’ for this Tristan Thompson news? Some of those links may not come out and say it, but NBAdraft.net was the first to report Thompson entering the draft and considering agents.

I think I remember NBAdraft.net reporting that Eric Bledsoe entered the draft last year and everyone was calling them out saying that he hadn’t signed yet and that draft.net was just trying to get attention.  Well, what do you know, Bledsoe did enter the draft early.

Like everyone else has said, let us wait until the deadline. I’m sure by then Thompson will have his agent picked out if he already doesn’t.
