Knicksboy34ParticipantTheres no post, no people backing this up….just somewhat of a thought. I just watched Grizzles GM Chris Wallace on Jim Rome’s show discussing Rubio, when it hit me.
The reason Rubio wont be picked By Memphis is simply : Pau Gasol.
Let’s remember this, Remember when the Gasol deal went down, All Memphis got was Crittenton (traded), Marc Gasol (decent), Kwame Brown ( wow) and a 2010 1st round pick (best part of the deal). Many People killed Wallace and he will never live that down. He Gave the Los Angles Lakers…..a Championship. We have seen so many discussions and talks about this deal. It killed the Grizzles. Now, We seen so many deals about deal to benefit the Grizzles.
You are correct. The only way Memphis will take Rubio is if they know they would get be the 100% winner the trade they involve him in. But so many teams wont make a big deal, Memphis will 9 times outta 10, wont be picked by Memphis.
I think he goes 3 to OKC.
What do u think?

Michael.S.Participantto the Grizz and i think yes he will go either at the 2spot to Minnesota 3 OKC or if somehow he slips to SAC. they will grab him 4sure(i think that if he is drafted be4 their pick they will try to trade for him anyways). and ur right if he F’s up 1 more time he gets ”poofed”. and although i know Rubio will be great, many people disagree or see him as a risky pick.

Michael.S.Participantthese lottery teams will benefit from doing crappy next year ,when the draft of 2010 comes that summer
if i was these teams that are buliding toward the future i would lose purposely next year, with Wall,Motiejunas,Monroe,Warren,Ed,Favors,Cousins, why not? lol0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/23/2009 - 8:12pm #171003
king_til_i_die23ParticipantSacramento can’t afford to lose on purpose, if we do we will be the next seattle. aka the kings will be gone
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/23/2009 - 8:16pm #171007

llperezSacramento is not gonna spend any money on players for awhile. The Maloofs are not happy with the arena or the fact the fans are’nt showing up. They will build patiently through the lottery for the next couple of years while avoiding any major salaries.

king_til_i_die23ParticipantI agree they wont sign any big names, I dont any would come to sacramento honestly, what they have to do is show some signs of improvement next year aka not finishing with the worst record in the league. I think this can happen if JT and Hawes take big steps next year and If Kmart stays healthy

Lodzio20ParticipantThunder don’t pick Rubio!!he sucks…Harden is the best player available
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/24/2009 - 12:01am #171025
MattissickParticipantI agree that the Thunder should take Harden but I listened to an hour long interview with Chad Ford today and he is convinced that the Thunder will take Rubio and figure out a way to make him and Westbrook work. Anyone know anything about the Thunder hiring the Spanish law people or whatever? What do you guys think the Thunder will do?
