Lotto StudParticipantAlthough Damian Lillard and Elfrid Payton snuck up on us heading into the Draft process, we were already aware of Stephen Curry and C.J. McCollum through their performances the year prior to their Draft classes.
Right now I am taking it upon myself to constructing this thread, to see if we all can get a good jump on that “Chosen One” who will eventually make his way into the 2015 Draft Lottery discussion.
If you have any Mid-Major candidates please list them.

Tedy BukasaParticipantThis is the a list of some of the point guards who may be in the running, but we might have to wait for the season to start in order to really be able to tell.

Lotto StudParticipant“Ryan Harrow, Georgia State: Something special is brewing in Atlanta and the former Kentucky Wildcat Ryan Harrow is at the heart of it all. Harrow averaged nearly 18 points and over 4 assists per game for the Panthers a year ago and he’ll be key in feeding R.J. Hunter and Kevin Ware this upcoming year.”
I couldn’t help myself, because I still like Harrow as a player. His play this past season shows that he has the willingness to compete still, throughout the off the court dealings on his shoulders. To say he will be a First Rounder is a long-shot, but I believe he will be drafted if he performs really well again, this upcoming season.

Tedy BukasaParticipantI believe in his talent as well. Not quite sure if he’s an NBA player just yet. I have to say though he had a heck of a game against Elfrid Payton in the Sun Belt Championship finals — he was almost unstoppable (37pts). Hopefully something special is brewing in Atlanta after all.

caray12ParticipantI well say EC Matthews from Rhode Island. He’s a 6’5" scoring point guard that we’ll be a sophomore next year and he can be prime to have a big year next year. I don’t believe he will enter the NBA next year but I can see him coming out the following year and become a lottery pick with strong workouts.

Tedy BukasaParticipantI believe it’ll be him as well, and I can in fact see him leaving next year if he develops enough mometum to garner 1st round hype. Besides Mudiay the field is open as far as the point guard position…might be a good time to strike while to iron is hot — as cliche as that sounds.

caray12ParticipantAll he needs to do is become a more natural point guard and be able to finish through contact. He can really shoot the ball, he have enough length to guard the 1 and the 2, and he have a great handle for his size. He can get some serious buzz by having a spectacular year, play great against the top teams, win games, and leas his team to the NCAA tournament. I really like him and RJ Hunter a lot and I can see both be high picks when they decide to come out along side Shawn Long from Louisiana Lafayette.
I can see all three be 1st round draft picks.

stealsgaloreParticipantThis guy is ridiculously athletic. He could definitely find a niche in the Isaih Thomas/Nate Robinson role. He averaged 20.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game as a junior. He put up 32 points in a 3 point loss against Wisconsin and 21 and 10 assists in a win against Virginia. He’d need to improve his 3 point shooting as he only shot 31% last year but he shot 47% from the field and average 5 assists.
The videos on this guy are ridiculous, he had one dunk against UIC where his head was above the rim.

JordanC20ParticipantCameron Payne from Murray State he probably won’t make the 2015 draft but he’s a guy to watch for the future.

stealsgaloreParticipantI also really like Van Vleet, with all the exposure they got last year I forgot that he is a mid major. I thought he was comparable to Tyler Ennis last year. I think they both played similar roles and they put up very similar numbers across the board with an exception being Van Vleet shot higher percentages. I think they both play a very controlled and composed game that definitely has a place in the league.
Ennis is taller and put up the numbers against better competition so I give him the edge but I’m interested to see how Fred steps up and what role he is put into with Early and others gone. If he can keep the same efficiency and increase his scoring a little I think he can definitely be a first round pick.
