I have a friend that’s a hard core Laker fan and it feels like this video was made just for him…

The LSU Purple and Gold connection, pictures with Shaq wearing a throwback Magic Jersey, Russell as a high school teammate, Laker title history and small market shaming…This is all in the Laker fan playbook, and it’s great…

I’m a Die Hard 76ers fan, should be interesting come the night of the Draft Lottery, LA/Boston with a shot at a generational talent and the 76ers sitting back with a best case scenario that every GM would envy(Winning 1 and Lakers picks falling to 4)

I wouldn’t mind losing Ben Simmons if we walk away with Brandon Ingram, but I would want to start a riot if LA or Boston landed Ben, it would just feel dirty to me, like the NBA is Rigged DIRTY…

I know the Lakers have as high a chance as anyone to land the #1 pick and could really use a player like Simmons, but a guys gotta think it’s a huge coincidence that the year they lose Kobe they add Ben Simmons…

Boston is the dark horse to land Ben and would be the 2nd time in the last decade I can remember a trade going horribly wrong for a Team trading away an unprotected Pick (Kyrie Irving via The Clippers trading Baron Davis)

They could have added the rights to Ben by trading old ass Pierce and KG, a major win for Danny Ainge who must be Billy King’s worst nightmare

I still want the Pelicans and Nuggets to win the 1 and 2 picks, 76ers get 3 and 4 via LA and draft Kris Dunn and Jaylen Brown or Jamal Murray???

Queston for you as a die hard 76ers fan. Would you rather land the one of the top two picks and draft either Simmons or Ingram or take the later and get picks 3 and 4 and draft a combo of dunn, Brown or Murray.

Im honestly for the latter and rather have 2 solid prospects than that one potential superstar. Honestly over the year im leaning more towards ingram over simmons as he is the better fit for the 76ers need shooters, but curious to know the opinion of a fan

      Thanks

I go with the potential superstar with the 1 or 2 pick. They would still have the Lakers pick next year, top 3 protected again. In what should be a deeper draft with plenty of top PG and wing prospects.

Getting picks 3 and 4 or 4 and 5 is the worse case scenario for me. You get the extra pick but miss out on that true star player again. If the 6ers don’t get a top 2 pick, I would rather not add the Lakers pick this year.

If the 6ers do get a top 2 pick and the Lakers pick does convey this year, and I think it will, you have to consider Bender. I draft him if he’s there at pick 4 or 5. There will be a log jam at the PF and C spots but we already know that’s going to happen if Saric and Embiid join the team. Bender would stay overseas for 2 or 3 years like Saric has so you have time to figure out rotations, who stays and who goes. Bender looks like too good of a prospect to pass up at the 4 or 5 pick.

They could hope for 1. Then trade Okafor for maybe the second through 5th pick to get which ever PG or Wing they wanted.

I’m interested to see if the Sixers change their strategy now that Hinkie isn’t the only guy running the team now. There was a rumor they were after Blake Griffin. Maybe for once they don’t go for best player available and grab Ingram. As a Laker fan, I want to pick 2nd. I think Simmons and Zingram are extremely close in potential. Position-wise, Ingram makes more sense for the Sixers and Lakers. For that reason, I hope someone else gets the top pick. I don’t know, maybe even the Celtics.

Should feel… Def don’t want to offend anyone…… but the Basketball gods have a strong sense of Karma & Irony….. If I was a Sixers fan – in this weak Draft – I’d pray for Ingram or Simmons – & pass on that Lakers pick……

The Sixers have so many 1st round picks the next few years…. between 2016 – 2018 Miami, OKC, Denver, Sacramento & L.A. all owe Phila 1st round picks….

Back to the Karma….. look up how the Lakers acquired Magic & Worthy…… Gail Goodrich was the Lakers 2nd leading scorer in the 1976 season…. unhappy w/ his contract he opted out & into free agency…. the New Orleans Jazz signed Goodrich….. Back then when a team signed a free agent they had to work out compensation & LA & NEw Orleans worked out a deal swapping several 1st round picks…. One of the picks was the Jazz’s 1979 1st round pick….. The Lakers took a beating in the press for giving up an excellent player like Goodrich (sound like the MCW trade at all?)

The Jazz figured they would be good & the pick would be late 1st round – they were Not good & the pick ended up being #1 overall….. & the Lakers who had Not been to the Finals in almost a Decade drafted Magic Johnson #1 overall…. THAT year Magic scored 42 points, grabbed 15 rebounds & dished 7 assists w/ Kareem out in Game 6 at Phila to upset the 76ers & bring LA a Championship…..

That very same year 1979 the Lakers traded Don Ford to Cleveland for a Future #1 pick….. That future pick ended up playing out the Exact same way the 1979 pick did…. after a coin flip between the Two Worst teams Cleveland & San Diego…. The 1982 1st overall pick was handed over to the Lakers who had Just won the NBA Title for the 2nd time in 3 years….. the Lakers became the !st team in NBA history to hold the Top pick as NBA Champions…. W/ the pick they chose "Big Game" James Worthy….. Another Hall of Famer!

The Lakers are still far from being a contender & the Kings could lose Boogie Cousins…. Don’t be surprised if the Kings & Lakers finish 1 & 2 in the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery & both are forced to hand the picks over to the Sixers…. who by then could be in the playoffs…..

I’m not making any predicitions…. All I am saying is that Irony is one of Life’s greatest gifts…… & it Never fails to show up in the most unlikely of ways….. 😉

Beggars can’t be choosers.  I just hope the Lakers keep their pick.  Simmons woukd be great, Ingram would fit perfectly with what they already have.  But if they fall to 3 it will be a little harder to choose.  Bender, Brown… And though it would be unpopular with most Laker fans since they are crazily attached to Clarkson, Murray would also be in play.  A backcourt of Murray and Russell would be no worse off defensively than one of Russell and Clarkson.  But I would probably lean Brown or Bender.

Keeping their pick is the real goal.

For me, you really can’t go wrong with Simmons, Ingram, and Brown. I think all three have star potential and I don’t think there’s a big separation between them. It’s an amazing year to have a top 3 pick. Simmons and Brown will be ready on day 1. I think Brown will translate immediately. Brown makes a very interesting option. Not only are Russell, Clarkson, Randle, and Brown extremely dedicated workers, Brown and Randle are ferocious. In the incredibly unlikely circumstance Byron Scott were still coaching next year, he’d love that duo. The only issue I’d take with Brown for them is that he doesn’t have an outstanding 3-shot and I’m not convinced that Clarkson and Russell are either. It’s also 4 guys who need the ball in their hands.

I have Murray going 4th. Murray and Russell might be a much better duo than Russell and Clarkson. I really think Clarkson is a PG. His trade value seems lower than it should be. They could command a lot more for him in the offseason. If the Lakers have to match a big contract for him in the off season, they can trade him to the team that puts the offer on him. Not a bad option.

    Haha…funny Video.

Lakers are gonna be alright with or without that top 3 pick.

Now that Kobes finished, it will become the #1 free agent destination again. Its still the place where players can make the most money with endorsements.
