nateoak10ParticipantIf they continue to suck and Iggy maintains he wants to be traded if they suck getting an expiring like Peja and someone like Thorton in return could be a good move. Maybe they get Nolas 1st as well

NYK2010ParticipantNot bad, I wouldn’t go near Rip Hamilton now. Philly not sure what their doing with Iggy they need to move a big contract and Brand seems much harder to trade. Chances of getting a young stud player, expiring and a 1st for Iggy aren’t great.

omphalosParticipantHornets with Iguodala would be great, Ariza and Iggy would form a great perimeter defensive team. Might be enough to keep Paul around.

HitsterParticipantWith NOH having been involved in a multiple team trade involving Philly a couple of months ago, there are limited options in what both teams may be prepared to offer or take back. One deal which could be attractive to Philly might be Iggy and Nocioni for Peja,Willie Green and Pondexter or future first round pick.
This way Philly clear all Iggy’s future salary plus Nocioni’s for two expiring contracts giving them huge flexability for Rod Thorn and Doug Smith to reshape the team next summer. This trade would have to wait for Willie Green to become tradeable again and Willie was a bit of a cult figure in Philly and knows the team well. Peja could be brought out or would give Rod Thorn a nice expiring contract for any deadline time moves. A future pick or a youngster like Q-Pond would fit Philly’s rebuilding plans and that only leaves them with Brand’s big contract to sort out.
NOH get a great complimintary player in Iggy allowing Belinelli to become a top bench player alongside Nocioni and these two more than fill the minutes that Q-Pond, Green and Peja filled. It shows Chris Paul that the team really wants to compete and if CP3 did move on in 2012 then they have a decent core with Iggy, Ariza etc and Nocioni is a team option then so can be waived if needed or provides a great future trade option.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantimo that would be a great trade for no not really giving up anyhting peja dont even play and thorton hasnt shown much yet even if a first is thrown in the pick wont be high true peja has that huge expiring contract but what good does cap room do if free agents dont wanna go to your team n last time i checked players arent lining up to play in philly

Toronto16ParticipantI really hope this deal gets done and convinces Paul to stay in New Orleans.

joecheck88Participanti think philly would want more so maybe in a 3 or 4 team trade it could happen, but straight up between those 2 teams seem unlikely, imo.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Sixers are not moving Iggy for a salary dump…That deal would only give us 11 million in cap before we sign rookies…Who can you sign for 8 million that would replace the loss of Iguadola…No one, that’s who….
The only trade I’d make with NO is Iggy and Hawes for Okefor and Poindexter plus a 1st rounder in 2012 .
That why we get a great defender and young player to backup Thad and Noci( If we pick up the Team option next year) plus a 1st rounder the year CP3 leaves for greener pastures…
The Hornets would get Iggy at the Sg spot and a young Center CP3 could make look like a stud in Hawes…
We don’t want Thornton or Peja…We have Meeks and Kapono( 7 million $ Expiring contract )
Why dump a good player with great value when it won’t get you Max Cap space..If you were going to throw a deal like that out just wait until Micheal Redd in Milwaukee is cleared to played and then try to trade Iggy and Brand for Redd and Larry Sanders, maybe even CDR and Ilyasova if the Sixers give away a 2nd rounder too…Thats the one and only salary dump I’d approve as a Fan of the team/players…Iggy and Brand on the Bucks would be scary…Jennings,Iguadola,Salmons,Brand,Bogut,Maggette,Moute,Gooden,Dooling,Delfino,…That’s a contender in The East….
With Redd and Kapono, possibly Noci and Battie coming off the Books we’d have Max Cap room to fill the hole left by the trade…We’d still have the core of Holiday,Turner,Thad,Speights,Hawes,Lou Williams,Meeks,CDR,Ilyasova,Brackins and our 2011 First Round Draft Pick( Top Ten Pick ) and Max Cap Space for Center or player thru sign and trade….

HitsterParticipantA lot depends on whether and what sort of offers the 76ers make to Hawes and Young as their qualifying offers equate to $8 million combined. Young has played reduced minutes under Coach Collins but will surely have done enough in his previous years at Philly to get a decent renewal, something like $16 million over 4 years would be a fair offer for both sides.
Hawes has started every game but has yet to prove himself so in contract year he really has to step up as otherwise Philly may well decide to use their cap space elsewhere.
Philly have a decent young core with 8 guys aged 24 or under also Battie, Songalia and Kapono come off the books next summer only leaving Nocioni, Brand and Iggy with the 8 man younger core. If we assume that Brand will be hard to trade at this time, maybe as his contract runs down and if his form remains solid then it becomes easier. Nocioni will be tradeable next season with his 2012/13 team option which only leaves Iggy.
Iggy I rate as a very good complimentary starter just below borderline All Star level who would be a very good running mate for a franchise player or as a 2nd,3rd option on a contender. Iggy missed his first game for over 3 years this week and his durability would add to his value as a complimentary player who you want to be on court as often as possible.
Trades to NOH have been discussed before, Dallas were rumoured to be interested but cannot send a first round pick before 2012 and would have to send one of Butler, Chandler to place things up plus maybe Jones or Ajinca. Another option could be Orlando who could send Carter who has a big team option next year, Gortat who could be Philly’s starting C and one or two future first round picks assuming that Philly may not want someone like Orton. Philly could send Iggy, Nocioni and Williams or Hawes the other way to make the salaries balance.
If you want to take it a stage further Philly could try and convince Otis Smith to take Brand along and Iggy, Brand could play PF alongside Dwight Howard with Iggy at SG allowing Lewis to play at his more natural SF. Orlando would send Philly Carter, Gortat and one of Bass, Pietrus or Reddick. Given the salaries that Orlando were taking on then a first rounder may not be thrown Philly’s way but Orlando have a very strong core going forward. Philly could waive Carter next summer, get a starting C in Gortat and then start over with the young core and only around $32 to $35 million in guaranteed salaries.
