Dennis Rodman was great, Malone was great, who else deserves to be there?

well, if you go back to the 50’s and 60’s there were a bunch of guys averaging 20+ rebounds a game and getting 30, 40, and even 50 rebounds was not unheard of. It was just a different era back then so their rebound numbers would crush today’s players.

As for the last 20-30 years of ball, I would add Michael Cage and buck Willimas as two of the best. But rodman was the greatest.

Howard, for all his physical gifts, i dont know why he doesn’t get 20 rebounds per game, realistically, he just doesn’t play with passion every game though

As for the question id go Wilt or Russell. Just because of their numbers.

Russell, without a doubt, is tops. Dave DeBusschere, Jerry Lucas, Ben Wallace, Charles Barkley.

I left off any 7-footers intentionally.

Agreed^, notice all of those players played with all the passion to make it possible to do with they did.

Shaq has to be up there in this generation. He does a lot more than rebound so people, I think, forget to mention him as one of the great rebounders of this era. His career average is 11.2, he has averaged over 13 rebounds per game 3 seasons in his career, and has 12,627 total on his career, ranking him 16th all-time. Numbers don’t lie and although he never specialized as a rebounder like Ben Wallace or other great rebounders of the past 10 years he continued to put up better, more consistant rebounding numbers than Wallace. Shaq never averaged 15 rebounds per game like Wallace did in 02′, but Shaq’s 13 double digit rebounding seasons, dwarf Wallace’s 7.

My choice is Rodman. When you compare him to guys like Shaq and Howard, the first thing you notice is how much smaller Rodman was when he played. He was 6’7, 210 lbs.

Rodman was great, I think he was the most dominant rebounder of the 90’s hands down, he was so smart and had rebounding down to a science, he actually owned Shaq defensively in the second round of the playoffs in 95-96, but I was just mainly talking about active players.

    i like perkins
    rugged throwback player
    fundamentally sound on defense
and Rebounds to close out a possesion
just throwing his name out there

GOAT? Bill Russell boiled it down to a science b4 Rodman

Tim Duncan has always done good job on the boards and so has Shaq for that matter.
