- Sources say that Gallon will likely end up with Boston’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, once the season begins.
- The Boston Celtics are expected to sign rookie Tiny Gallon to non-guaranteed deal, according to sources. Milwaukee cut Gallon two weeks ago.

fastforward322ParticipantI like it too. The Celtics must have the highest average weight in the NBA with Shaq, Big Baby, and now Tiny!

JNixonParticipantNo real hard can be done here. It’s not guaranteed, and he can develop some in the D-League. And if he doesn’t, they have nothing to worry about. I like this. Low risk, possibly (relatively) high reward.

Counting StarsParticipantGotta agree with fastforward322. Why don’t they just bring Kevin Duckworth and Oliver Miller out of retirement while they’re at it?

kaceyParticipantI know you aren’t being serious about bringing those guys back, but Kevin Duckworth passed away a couple of years ago.

HitsterParticipantMaybe Tiny will balance out the bench when either Shaq or Davis is on court, it will be a tight fit for the smaller guys!

JoeWolf1I’m not big on Gallon, but I won’t argue he still has potential to become a decent pro player. Pretty good signing for the oldest team in the league. Got a 2nd round talent for next to nothing and see if he makes any improvement this year before breaking out the big bucks.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantWith 300lbs Tiny coming a board and 300lbs vets Shaq & Big Baby already on board i bet the Celtics are hiring about 200 more Cooks….

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt is going to be a lot harder for him to eat properly on the $15 per diem for meals he is going to get in the NBDL. Maybe he can negotiate that number up to $20 or $30, but it is still whatever is close to the arena or hotel in Fort Wayne or Sioux Falls. For the Celtics, it is a nothing investment. They have a guy who had he not been at risk of losing his eligibility at OU could have ended up being a first round pick in a year or so. They have his rights, they’ll have coaches they trust working with him, and if he progresses well enough could come in handy down the line. The Celtics are probably going to need to add another small forward capable of guarding LeBron in midseason. They might have to put forth a two or three for one with their young guys (Bradley, Davis, Perkins, perish the though of including the future HOFer Harangody, but you get the point) and end up adding him just to be an extra big body.

parkerjParticipantsomething tells me they’re signing him just so they can release him and take advantage of the new d-league rule that would allow them to keep him on their d-league roster without the Red Claws having to draft him

HitsterParticipantImagine Eddy Curry finally gets waived and they sign him, that would be one massive scramble if they held a team bonding day at KFC!
