I’ve seen alot of them in high school… LeBron, OJ, Bill Walker, Dexter Strickland, Brandon Jennings, Tiny Gallon, Willie Warren, Mike Beasley, Ty Lawson, Nolan Smith, Anthony Jones, Greg Monroe, Tommy Mason-Griffin, the kid from Duncanville Perry Jones, Damion James, Xavier Roberson… And so on…

I’ve watched alot more in-person and the kid that really caught me off guard was- J’Covan Brown… I mean this dude was a MONSTER 3 games I’ve watched him in… The game was so easy for him, very smooth and silky like a Chris Paul without the passing… I’ve watched this dude take a fadeaway NBA range 3 and make all net with EASE… Take the contact and still finish with the grace of a Kobe or OJ… Dude did whatever he wanted on the court against top-rated comp…. The problem is he knows he’s a beast and won’t work for anything… Doesn’t play D, won’t pass the ball to save his life, and if he doesn’t get his, he becomes a black-hole and nothing but shots come out of it… That’s probably why no one has heard of him (or will for that matter)… My friend asked him his favorite player… This guy says T.O.- Yes Terrell freaking Owens… So that should tell you where this kid’s head is… But none the less, a great talent and by far the best prospect I’ve seen in person while in High School…

I see what tuck is saying. Lebron was the prospect he was because of his size, athleticism and ability to see the floor. His other basketball skills [shooting, defense,etc..] weren’t head and shoulders above everyone else. He’s saying Brown’s are. I saw part of UT’s game against someone last weekend and the kid did look smooth, but I never saw him in high school . He definitely wasn’t the best player on the floor but you could tell he had game.

tuck- I haven’t seen J’Covan Brown play yet but I noticed he scored in double figures against Iowa recently.  Texas is loaded with talent.

I haven’t seen many real good high prospects in person. Probably the best player I saw growing up in the 90’s was Greg Buckner. The best player I have seen in the last 5 years or so has been Scotty Hopson.

The best player I’ve seen in person is Ryan Harrow. He’s a Senior in HS right now, but he has some of the best handles I’ve personally ever seen. He just needs to work on his natural PG skills, and continue to get better as a shooter and he’ll be on his way. Also he needs more strength.

Ryan Harrow is a beast i just saw how he plays and is a monster truely and could a great choice for colleges and he needs strength but he will develop in college but he really needs a jumper to develop because he could get stopped in college by others so he needs to a go-to move instead of dribbling but if he has ajumper it would be a benefit because he knows how to create space so that leaves he open to shot a nice jumper.

He’s a good shooter when left open, so he’ll be someone that can’t be sagged off of too much. But he isn’t great when closed out on or contested though. But yea, he’s going to be a great player at NC State next year.

YoungDave- Its what I thought (Not the preception of everyone else)… Seriously, dude was doing things with ease that I see NBA players put into their games after years being in the league… He can asorb contact like Paul, use that step through dribble, and his mid-range/ 3 Pt shot is nice… Its just the attitude… Case in point…

J’Covan was suppose to be a freshman last year, but a few things happened (grades/attitude- IDK) and he didn’t go to UT. Rick Barnes STILL stuck with him. We’re talking about a player that ALOT of people felt was better than Willie Warren coming out their senior year in Texas. A player whom until last night started over Avery Bradley (I’m sure that’s because of the 5 TO avg). He’s talented words can’t even explain it…

Gator- The funny thing is I was suppose to go see Scotty (My homeboy love that dude), but it was too far away to make another game… I want to say Greg Monroe’s… IDK, but he’s a beast…

Iggy- Haven’t heard of him, but will look him up soon…

the best i have ever seen was dermarr johnson…we played against parkdale his freshman year and he just gave us work..was doing everything lebron did in hs except he was shooting threes from deeeeeeeep

I remember that they were talking about Johnson delcaring after his JUNIOR year of highschool, but Stern squashed that talk pretty quickly. Even before he had his accident he didn’t look like he was gonna be the player he could’ve been. He was a monster. Also, someone mentioned Carlos Hurt. I’ve played with Hurt at the Alief Rec center here in Houston. I have no idea how he was ranked so high coming out. He was ok but he was getting handled by guys that stack boxes for a living. He wasn’t that quick, had trouble getting by people, dribbled the air out of the ball and put it up every time he touched it. If he was open it was buckets though. It’s like every body in the gym made it a point to go at him, myself included.

Kevin Durant to tall and skilled for any highschool player with unlimited range or Kobe. LeBron was Karl Malone’s size in the 10th grade so he doesnt count

durant wasn’t as consistant from deep as he is now though. and yeah dj was a monster but he let the early success get to hi head and stopped working as hard…theres another player i forgot that i grew up with named shiek pearson. he was a monster..couldnt shoot that well and still cant but he could score and had bounce for days.
