Gonna be nice to see how his story unfolds

Evan_MilbergParticipantIf he ever develops an outside game, it’s over for everyone else.

azertonParticipantThe pressure on his ankle and knee joints must be really scary, IMO he should really go down to the 240
range (or even lower if it doesn’t hurt his game too much), as he looks over 260 right now, to reduce
the massive injury risk he has to currently be under.
It would really be a shame to see this such breathtaking physical specimen being bothered and/or limted by
injuries.

ChrispyParticipanthe measured at 272 lbs and 6’5 1/2" earlier this year. Most unique physical profile since Grandmama?

kobyzParticipantLeBron is on 260 and having no problem with injuries…

mowestenParticipantLeBron i’s also 6’8 and probably around 4-5% body fat. Zion has thick legs, very little muscle definition, especially for a basketball player, and I would guess his body fat percentage to be pretty high.
Not all weights are created equal. Muscle weighs more than fat, which is partially why LeBron weighs so much.
Zion is still really young and it’s important to keep that in mind. It’s possible he can slim down and get leaner. It’s also possible things could go the other direction. Either way, as he is currently built, I would shocked if he doesn’t face injury issues in the future.

mcgee555ParticipantAre there many more kids in his class with more muscle definiton?

ChrispyParticipantSaw him with his shirt off. I’m a grown, athletic man and let’s just say that I wish I look like that.

BasterdInABasketParticipantDefinition? Yes.. Pure mass and brute strength ? No. Imagine this guy putting in the work strength and nutrition wise on NBA level. Take Shaq out and he could potentially be the most physically opposing player at his position. Skill wise is another question and will determine his actual position.

TarHeelRavenParticipantIm really interested to see how Zion plays this year. I’ll get to see him at least 2 times when Duke plays my Heels. Hes a freak athlete, but can he dribble, shoot and play when he can’t just bully his smaller and much less athletic opponents to the basket every night like he did in high school?

OhCanada-ParticipantI think Zion Williamson is a 5 star prospect but that needs to be put into perspective. In a prominent role he will struggle out the gate but his unique combination of size, athletisism, playmaking and balance added by the fact that he has shown improvements on his shooting and ballhandling makes him a great longterm prospect. If he enters the league with easy going expectations as a defender/rebounder that brings energy off the bench for very short stretches then he can be successful at the next level.
The key would be to slowly improve his skills through development and add responsibility to his role. He could be the ultimate glue guy. He seems humble enough to understand his limitations and signing to Duke to likely be a 4th or 5th option proves that.
