Terrence Jones said that he wants to play in New Orleans with Anthony Davis.

If he is available should the Hornets go for it?

Sounds like he enjoyed riding Davis’ coat tail a little too much this past season.

That is my answer. Truly, I think better players will be around at 10, not to mention better fits for the Hornets. How is Terrence Jones that different from Al-Farouq Aminu (slightly bigger, but I think Aminu is a better All-Around player)? The Hornets have a lot of holes to fill and if they feel Terrence Jones will be the best player out of anyone available with the 10th pick, than they should take him.

Chad Ford has had him at #7 to Golden State in his past couple Mock Draft’s, so they might not even get the chance according to ESPN draft guru. But, I have a feeling Jones will be around. I think PG will be a more pressing need, not to mention that if they plan to play Terrence Jones at 4 and Anthony Davis at 5, I think that is a really bad idea. Still believe that there will be a PG, SF or C available at 10 who will probably work better than Terrence Jones.

They have Aminu, he hasn’t shown a whole lot yet ( mostly he can be a very good rebounding SF), but he’s only 21 years old and has proven he still has some promise.  He averaged 8 points and 7 rebounds and an impressive 1.7 spg as a starter.

They have a bunch of needs, I don’t think adding another SF under 22 is the best use of their pick.

Monty Williams has said they’ll take the best player available with the 10th pick. Based on the fact Chris Kaman probably won’t return and there’s a strong possibility Carl Landry won’t either, they probably should go big to give Anthony Davis some help up front.

Aminu has the potential to be an elite defender, I watched and analysed a couple of Hornets games late in the season, and his ability to play the passing lanes is phenomenal, he’s actually a decent shooter on a catch and shoot or if he’s open from deep. I wouldn’t take Jones over Aminu by a long shot

I’d take a PG with their second pick, no question. it’s their biggest hole both now and for the future. They have young prospects at every position except C and PG, but they still have Emeka, and he’s not so old that he can’t be effective for a few more years, or at least until next season where they might be in with a chance to select Adams, Zeller or Noel as part of the 2013 C class.

Small forward is not a need and Power forward is not a need.  They could use a Center, PG, and shooting guard if Gordon is no resigned.

I just got this weird dumb thought.  If Howard would accept it could New Orleans get him for the number 10 pick, Okafor, and possible Gordon.

Howard and Davis front court with Ariza who is also long would be sick.  I think after that NO could find a shooting guard if Henry is not the answer.

I Orlando or Dwight would accept this bu that was a thought.

I think the Hornets will go for a PG at #10 preferably Kendall Marshall or Damian Lillard

The Hornets could go alot of ways with the 10th pick, But I’d like to see them trade down with Houston for the 14th and 16th picks in the draft…

This is a Win Win IMO, because the Houston GM can draft BPA or Take a Huge Leap of faith in one of the Players they love with 10th pick…

The Hornets get to slide down a few spots and pick up Terrence Jones and Marquis Teague with the 14th and 16th picks respectively, I still think Teague is a top 20 Talent in a weak Pg class and Jones is one of the most NBA ready players because of his body and skillset, not to mention staying in College and winning the National Title…

The Hornets would be drafting 3 Kentucky Wildcats, all of which have potential at the next level to play major roles on winning teams, of course The Hornets will very young and the Losses may mount up early on, but down the line a core a Teague-E.Gordon-Jones-Davis and Okefor sounds legit with Ariza, Aminu, Jack and Jason Smith in the rotation as well, not sold on Gustavo Ayon yet and Kaman, Landry and Marco are gone this summer through free agency…

IMO They should trade back and get Jones(14th) and Teague(16th) to join their franchise player Anthony Davis, it could make his NBA transition go a lot smoothier too, he’ll feel comfortable from the gate…

I actually really like Henry as an up-and-comer, he’s got great defensive ability already, and his offensive game is improving gradually, similar to Paul George. I just think the difference is George was given opportunities right off the bat, and Henry was playing behind Mayo and Tony Allen his first season.

Terrance Jones would be a nice compliment on any team I believe, but for the Hornets to take him would be absurd. Not only are they already set at that position for the future but at the 10th pick I don’t think Jones would be worth it. There are too many flaws in Jones game as of right now to make him a valuable enough asset to go as high as 10. The Hornets will already have Anthony Davis, so the best pick here would be to make the smart pick and take a PG. Lilliard has been high on the radar and can go high as 5 so there’s no telling where he will fall but Marshall would be the safe and correct pick for a franchise who is rebuilding and needs a point guard who is a "Pure" point guard and will spread the ball around.

At this point in the draft, I wouldn’t go for it.  I do think that he will improve his draft stock at the combine.  However, I still believe better players will be available at #10 and will be a better fit than Terrence Jones.

The main thing I would look at with the 10th pick in the draft is a shooting guard.  Eric Gordon wants to test free agency, and I honestly do not think he wants to play there.  If I were New Orleans, I’d take a shot on Austin Rivers (providing he’s still on the board) or even Terrence Ross.  I think Rivers has some of the best potential to be a superstar in this draft, and Ross would be a very nice addition to the team as well.

At this point, I would focus on filling a potential void if Eric Gordon decides to go, and if Austin Rivers is available, I think you almost have to take him.

Could you imagine if both he and Anthony Davis reach their full potential?  They’d be a contender in the Western Conference for a long time to come…

I would go with Sullinger if he is still on the board. I feel either one of them could pair with Davis to form a dynamic young big man combination. Sullinger gives them power and post scoring on the block. His game is the polar oposite of Davis’s and should compliment him well. Where sullinger lacks the length of a C Davis makes up for that in droves.

If damian lillard is on the board they should go with him and try to resign eric gordon…i think these two can be one of the best backourts in the L …they complement so well each other and gordon said last year that he enjoys playing with a pg capable of scoring off the ball like mo and like an elite off-the ball shooter lillard …they can share the ballhandling responsibilities as gordon sees himself as a capable playmaker

It looks like the Hornets will have some good options at 10.  I like point guards here for them.  If Kendall Marshall is there then they should take him.  Davis inside with a Marshall and Eric Gordon backcourt along with Greivous Vazquez and Bellineli.  Jack might be back, too.

If not Kendall Marshall, then I actually thought about Terrance Jones.  He can play the 4 or 3.  So he could help them go big or small.  TJ can do a lot of things and should be a good complement to Davis and Gordon.

If Perry Jones is on the board then they should take a look at him too.  Other than Davis, he might have the most upside in the draft.  If he is a pure 3 then that would be great, it would make Ariza expendable and allow Al-Aminu to be a solid sixth man glue guy off the bench.

I like Jared Sullinger as a sturdy power forward type with a good skill set.  Should be a good compliment to Anthony Davis.

So, I would go Marshall, Terrance Jones, Perry Jones, and Jared Sullinger pretty much in that order with Marshall being my first choice.  John Henson is not a bad player but he is too much like Anthony Davis.  Austin Rivers might be there and might be worth taking a look at, but he is a 2 guard (or a combo) and I think Eric Gordon will stay.  Or he should.

I haven’t seen Lillard play but obviously if they want to take a point guard then he is a guy to look at.

The best thing about the Hornets taking a point guard (Kendall Marshall) at 10 they get a pass-first guy who complements Davis and Gordon.  Then next year there are some solid bigs who can come in and play with Anthony Davis, or James McAdoo who is another good complement, especially if he can play small forward.

As a core goes, you could do worse than a legit scorer at the 2 (Eric Gordon), a shot blocking, rebounding force inside (Anthony Davis), and a pass-first leader at point guard (Kendall Marshall).  GV, Al Aminu, Bellinelli, and Jason Smith are decent role players along with Jarrett Jack, Chris Kaman, Ariza, and/or Carl Landry if they stay.

After that, I think the Hornets would need one more guy for their "core" and I think they can do that in the next draft.  Even if they get a late lotto pick they could still come away with a guy like Adonis Thomas.
