FutureNBAGMParticipantAll salary and draft issues aside, Prince should be a solid veteran presence for Toronto. Proven winner.

KingslayerParticipantMemphis would save 6.7 million in cap room by cutting Salmons on July 1st (only 1 million of his 7 million team option is guaranteed; I subtracted that from Prince’s 7.7 million).
I like this move for Toronto, as there are a lot of solid players that will fall to the early twenties like McDaniels, Ennis, Payne, etc. The 6.7 million and 2 first round salaries would likely preclude them from signing one or both of Vasquez and Patterson, as they plan on breaking the bank for Lowry. However Ennis and Payne could be viewed as comparable players in the short term, and would provide cheap vale over the next 4 seasons while the Raps figure out who they want to re-up among their core players (Lowry/Derozan/Ross/JV).

OhCanada-ParticipantMajor turn on for any Raptors fan. Ujiri is turning into a legend with these small deals.

SwatLakeCityParticipantI like the deal. Grizzlies weren’t getting much production out of Prince anyways. He’s old and its time they update the small forward position.
It looks the deal is going to be Salmons and the 37th pick for Prince and the 22nd pick.
Now Raptors can keep their 20th pick, get Tyler Ennis, and then at 22 draft a 4 which is also a need. Someone like Jarnell Stokes or Clint Capela would be nice. I see that they are also targeting Capela with the 22nd pick who the Spurs are hoping slips to 30. Time for another last minute quick change in my mock. (Kyle Anderson continues his slide that is currently happening.)
I like this deal because the Grizzlies can get a younger 3 guard, which are a plenty in this draft with the 37th pick, possibly GR3 or Jerami Grant if they are still available in the second round. And they also can shed the expiring contract of Prince, and get Salmons who also has a big contract but will expire I believe next offseason but Prince’s contract I don’t think expires for another 2 years. And Raptors get an experienced veteran who has more years left on the shelf than Salmons. Now they can continue to build on their playoff success with a solid veteran, and help the development of Ross and Derozan. They also can draft a 4 another position of need and they can still keep their 20th pick and get a backup PG possible starter if Lowry leaves.
The Raptors are the big winners in this deal but the Grizzlies win some too.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI don’t like this if we just give all that extra money to Z Bo…
Supposedly he wants to opt in AND get an extension.
Heck no Z Bo.
