M-DYMESParticipantI’m so pumped to get Babbitt at 16 as a T-Wolves fan. He got the confidence to succeed and is a hell of a scorer on the wing, exactly what we needed. Would have preferred Cousins (since we couldn’t get Turner) at 4 over Wes, but I am satisfied. Babbitt is gonna be huge for us though IMO. Very pleased with the pick here…as long as we don’t trade it. knock on wood.
Now just get a big man like Sanders/Alabi/Parahouski. Maybe Crawford for a bench scorer later.

M-DYMESParticipantIm sick to my stomach right now. The only cure for Kahn is pepto/vodka shots. And to think he fooled me into supporting him. Im ashamed of myself and this organization.

nas23ParticipantMartell wEBSTER….LOL
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:28pm #340397

PlatypusParticipantthey also traded Ryan Gomes along with him
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:29pm #340402

M-DYMESParticipantHow much piss can a T-Wolves Martell Webster jersey soak?
How long does it take to burn a piss soaked Martell Webster T-Wolves jersey?
Kahn is a madman and a tease.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:33pm #340417

M-DYMESParticipantRyan Gomes is a decent player as well. Maybe I take Webster for him straight up, maybe.
But to trade Babbitt in that deal is unconscionable. Kahn thinks hes so smart too. This is what happens when you give unqualified media members real power in controlling sports organizations.

IndianaBasketballParticipant@M-DYMES
You’re crazy… Did you watch ANY of Webster last season? If you did, you’d know he has plenty of size, athleticism, shooting and most importantly… DEFENSIVE ability on the wing.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:35pm #340423
brennenrundParticipantyeah not to mention martel webster plays the same position as wesley johnson haha; at least Babbit could have played the 4 along with ryan gomes i dont understand the trade at all but as a blazer fan i’m happy with it.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:35pm #340424
kanebangerParticipantno but as stuart scott calls him SHARPSHOOTER martell webster lol k. why trade babbitt when he couldve been better than webster i dont get it……..
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:36pm #340426

M-DYMESParticipantLOL this is posted on David Kahn wiki profile…
“On May 22, 2009, Kahn was introduced as the president of basketball operations of the Timberwolves and is widely known as the gayest and best nba president in the league.”

brennenrundParticipantyeah martel webster’s not a bum but a steep price for a role player.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:40pm #340434

M-DYMESParticipantButler…defense?
We have Corey Brewer on the wing for that and now just added Wes Johnson.
We need points, and while Webster is a “sharpshooter”, Babbitt could end up as an elite player in this league. It is a dumb ass trade a you know it.
If you haven’t yet noticed our best scorer is averaging 17 ppg and puts the ball up whenever it ends up in his hands in the post.
You honestly would rather have Webster and his contract over Babbitt and Gomes? Come on man. I love your posts typically, but I gotta disagree with you on this one.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:41pm #340444

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhat in the hell makes you think Babbitt can be an “elite” player in the NBA? He scored against players in the WAC. Nevada didn’t even play against anybody significant. They didn’t w…
Wow… You guys just took Trevor Booker with the 23rd pick! LOL…. Ha ha ha ha… WOW. You guys could’ve gotten him in the 2nd round!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:42pm #340450

apb540ParticipantYou dudes got a real good player in Webster. I actually own a Martel Webster Blazers jersey haha
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:42pm #340451

mikeyvthedonParticipant23, man, I knew he was getting some good reviews, but that is high. And another undersized 4 not known for his D? Wow, Kahn is just trying to get fired.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:42pm #340453

PlatypusParticipanthaha an undersized power foward who should’ve went 2nd round hahaha
Jefferson Love and now Booker
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:43pm #340455
brennenrundParticipantyour team just took a mid 2nd rounder 23rd i feel so bad for you, and butler idk if your talking to me but i never said babbit would be eliter, im just saying gomes and webster are about the same talent wise, and you also give up a first round talent its a steep price for a role player.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:44pm #340458

M-DYMESParticipantI’d put money on it that he ends up a hell lot better than your boy Gordon Hayward. Not to mention he is a great shooter with a high release, that will translate just fine no matter where your coming from. He has great length, size, confidence, work ethic, and is a very good athlete. I would welcome that much more than Webster. I like Webster, but I think Babbitt is going to be a much better player.

M-DYMESParticipantYea now we grab Booker at 23. God this team is unbelievable. I feel bad for Jonny Flynn who I like alot. I’m done with these guys, my devotion is now damn near 100% behind my hometown Sixers.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:45pm #340464

IndianaBasketballParticipantLOL… Trevor Booker???
Back to what I was saying about Babbitt. I doubt he’ll be better than Webster. I mean, Webster played on a Portland team that was absolutely loaded at the wing. He’s a good player. He’s a great athlete, can shoot, put the ball on the floor and finish, and he has the potential to be an elite defender.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:47pm #340468

M-DYMESParticipantOk we trade Booker to move down, I’m ok with that now, but still enraged with the decision on Babbitt.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:47pm #340469
brennenrundParticipantyo sick trade i take back the booker thing i like getting two picks for 23 not bad.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:47pm #340470

mikeyvthedonParticipantHuh? OK……Why Minnesota? I mean, why just stock up more second rounders. I smell some Hassan Whiteside.

kanebangerParticipanti fkin hate david kahn he always has a sh it eating smile on his face like hes laughing at something no one else knows about and he thinks he a genius but my 4 month old kid could make better decisions then that noobie focker
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:48pm #340478

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t know who’ll be better. I know the Jazz took a seriously look at them both and decided on Hayward.
Nevada didn’t play against anybody at all. Butler had a good non-conference schedule both of the years Hayward was there. I’ve seen Hayward up against NBA caliber players. I can’t say that about Babbbitt.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:49pm #340480
brennenrundParticipantYeah webster is a good athlete and has a decent offensive game but IMO he doesn’t try his hardest at all times and he doesn’t seem to care if his team wins he’s a selfish player for sure and i’m not sure he’s better than corey brewer/w.johnson so he’ll still see limited playing time.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:50pm #340485

mikeyvthedonParticipantNot exactly great at putting it on the floor, but definitely could be much better with a change of scenery, and is better than anyone else they have on the wing at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if he played 2, and he is a solid defender. Injuries have always been a concern, and he just never found his niche. But I like Babbitt to Portland, I think he will find a home there. The kid can shoot, and we could use some bench scoring, definitely a change from Nicolas Batum (who is the future).
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:55pm #340497
brennenrundParticipantyou think the wolves will take a promising player at 30 and 35 or just screw those up to.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 3:55pm #340498

IndianaBasketballParticipantMcMillian is a defensive first coach… Who is Babbitt going to defend?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 4:01pm #340517
kanebangerParticipantthey’ll screw it up
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 4:02pm #340520

M-DYMESParticipantJust cuz your coach is a defensive coach doesn’t mean every player on your squad has to be a lockdown defender. He can teach Luke how to play some D. I think Luke will be utilized there more for off the bench scoring and his D will improve in time. His upside is very high.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 4:07pm #340532

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe doesn’t have to be a lockdown defender, there aren’t that many in the NBA, but he does need to be able to deny dribble penetration. IF he can’t defend, he won’t be on the floor for very long.
Babbitt just reminds me of Luke Jackson, a player who Portland already had.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 4:17pm #340565

M-DYMESParticipantTo each his own, but I would be shocked if he ends up with a career like Luke Jackson. I think this kid is the real deal. We’ll see. As long as he continues to work hard which I think he will, I see him developing into atleast a very solid pro.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/24/2010 - 4:22pm #340590
brennenrundParticipantwhat position does lazar hayward play? oh, the same one as martel webster.
