Lotto StudParticipantI just would like to know what are the odds Thomas Robinson lands with his hometown Washington Wizards due to the tragedy he faced two years ago with his mother and grandparents passing away, along with Anthony Davis #1 overall Harrison Barnes being MJs guy at #2.
I really can see this pick making sense if the first two picks were to go down that way. It may be a little farfetched right now but nothing is impossible when it comes to the NBA Draft.
What are your thoughts on T-Rob being the hometown hero?

TyroberParticipantI hate that his mother and grandparents have passed away, but that has nothing to do with where he goes in the draft.

Lotto StudParticipantIt could. You can never rule that out when it comes time for the #3 pick to roll around and he’s still on the board.

TyroberParticipantThey might pick him because he is a very good basketball player. It would have nothing to do with part of his family having passed away.

BasterdInABasketParticipantIf he lands in Washington it wont be because of what happened with his family but because it would be the best basketball decision for the Wizards. It is a strong possibility though as PF is a need with Nene at the 5. He wont slip past 5.

JoeWolf1He would love to play for the Wizards and they could use his attitude and work ethic on that team, but I agree with the majority of the posters here…D.C. isn’t going to pick him because he went through a personal tragedy.
If he goes there, it will be because they feel he is the best player available.

Da1potParticipantWashington could use him yeah, but I think they should roll the dice and draft Andre Drummond instead- or Harrison Barnes if he is available. This may not mean anything in terms of who they actually draft, but I know for a fact that Randy Wittman and the Wizards organization is very high on Trevor Booker and Kevin Seraphin, and that both are considered key building blocks for the future. Seraphin was much improved in the 2nd half last season and I think he has enormous potential.

Bmore_DCParticipantDa1pot…
I was thinking the SAME thing, they need to gamble on Drummond…the dude is an athletic freak and the Wall/Drummond combo with maybe Muhammed next year would just be incredible

WizardofOzParticipantAs great of a story it would be if the Wizards drafted Robinson, I just don’t think he’s a good fit for the roster. A T-Rob/Nene frontcourt would get shredded on defense. They need a rim protector that can block shots and help on the weakside next to Nene.
Like my fellow Wiz breathen have said in the post above mine, I would take Drummond on Barnes. Those two are at the top of my Wiz big board.
