chall23ParticipantThe kid plays with a fire and an intensity which you don’t see everyday. I feel like he will be a player that is going to work extremely hard to improve his game. He has only been playing basketball for 4 years! I’m interested to see how good this kid could potentially get. He is already a decent low post defender, shot blocker (Man and weak side) has quick lateral movement for a guy 7’0. Also he’s a great hustler. It makes me wonder how a guy like Alex Len could get drafted over him?

GrandmamaParticipantHe definitely doesn’t have Gortat in his game. But Asik for sure.
I love his activity and athleticism. He can really make an impact on the defensive end, and on the offensive glass. One aspect of his game that I really like is his ability to hedge on screens and recover. He really disrupts the ball-handler on screens, and is mobile and athletic enough to get back to his guy. He honestly might already be the best screen-hedging center in the league.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantHe’s the perfect center for OKC. I had a feeling when they got him in the draft that he would be a good fit down the road but had no idea it would happen so fast.

GrandmamaParticipantSome people were clamoring for Olynyk instead of Adams after the draft. Adams has the upside to be an absolute monster on the defensive end, and I think they made the right pick.

For_Never_EverParticipantIt’s weird that you say that now. I remember me and Siggy liking Adams more then anyone and both of us wrote we would take him in the lottery. I’m not exactly sure but I think you got on us a lot over it. Even going as far as saying Siggy had a Man Crush numerous times.

ballislife33ParticipantYou get the feel Adams fits OKC perfectly. He’s never going to have a consistent offensive game, but will give you defense and rebounding it looks like, maybe Adams will take over for Perkins next year. The core 4 of Westbrook, Durant Ibaka, and Adams looks nice right now, imagine if they could have only gotten anything out of J Lamb these last two years.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI want to see what they do at 21 and 29. They could complete their young core rotation.

festar35ParticipantI can’t help but liken him to DeAndre Jordan except with a better mid-range and free throw game. Well that is his ceiling and to me that is very good.

duhrant35ParticipantHe reminds me of Andrew Bogut. A little smaller, but I think he could develop into that type of player. Will probably never be the playmaker, but he is a decent passer.

Jr. ROXASParticipantRight now, no way does he resemble Bogut. Bogut is light years more skilled than Adams in the post. You could also run an offense through Bogut when he was younger and before injuries. Excellent passer and incredible IQ. Adams is the opposite. He can’t create his own shot and needs other people to set him up. He is more athletic than Bogut though, and plays with more energy.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantHe does everything Perkins does and more. All those years playing rugby have made him just as tough as Perk is and he has tonnes more mobility. Given, neither of them have much offense, but Adams can at least dunk the ball, Perk can hardly get off the ground.

vulture711ParticipantProbably never much of a scoring threat but a solid defender and board grabber. Never hurts to have that wrapped up into a 7 footer – still learninig how to play. Great value pick ny OKC

SnowtaParticipantI think it’s way too early to tell how good he’ll be on offense. A 7′ rookie that’s only been playing ball for 4 years could drastically improve his offensive game throughout his career.

omphalosParticipantAdams already shows the makings of decent touch and footwork, I don’t think he’ll be a strictly defensive player. I think Durant would have to be nuts to go to another team when he has young pieces like Adams and Lamb who can play the Parker to his Duncan as he ages.
The Thunder are well set up for a decade of dominance if they can keep their core together the way San Antonio did.
Also, I’m surprised nobody else noticed how well Lamb played in his minutes in this game.
He was a big part of the Thunder’s great second-quarter with his energy and ability to be a threat.
I’m glad Thabo finally got sat, he’s never been the same since his injury defensively or offensively, so there’s really no reason to play him over a guy like Lamb.
I want more minutes for Lamb, less for Fisher, but let’s see if Brooks gives him another chance in the series.
People saying "if we could get something out of Lamb" need to remember that he was doing fine this season until Caron Butler started taking his minutes because Brooks just loves his past-their-prime vets.

JoeWolf1I’ve thought he was a great prospect since the first time I saw him at Pitt. He was intriguing right away, but improved throughout the year and looked like the best player on his team by the NCAA tournament. I’m not surprised he’s doing so well, he had the size, mobility and strength to do dirty work right away. He’s really got a nice foundation set as far as his shot is concerned. IMO his shot just needs reps.
He’s going to be a defender/rim protecter, and I doubt he’ll ever be a focal point in an offense, but I suspect he’ll be a 65-70% free throw shooter in his prime too, which is huge for a defensive C.

jerb2011ParticipantThere’s no telling how great Steven can get. He’s only played 4 years of basketball and he worked out with Brook Lopez, Andrew Bogut, and even Tim Duncan going into the season. I want Shaq to get his hands on him, paired with Serge supposedly working out with The Dream this off season! A Thunder fan can dream haha!!
