negguaryParticipantSteve Kerr is apparently the coach of the year which really upsets me. The fact is he missed the first 43 games which is half the season mean while Terry took a blazers team the pre-season people had tabbed for the lottery as a sixth seed and potentially going to the second round of the western conference playoffs. Its just like come on!

Magic JordanParticipantMan the interim, or next Lakers head coach if you will had a better record than Kerr! There are a few other candidates that would have been a better choice than Kerr in my opinion, but he did coach an all timer. Hard to argue against that.

negguaryParticipantHe coached half an all-timer. I’m sorry like I understand that they say Kerr was still behind the scenes working but the majority of coaching involves being RESPONSIVE and for that Luke earned those wins. In fact, wasn’t there record better with Luke coaching? Its just not cool to the guys like terry who coached the entire year and willed their teams to victories.

phila9012ParticipantI think stotts did a great job, Clifford did great getting the Hornets to compete as well as they have. Dwayne Casey did great with the Raptors getting the 2 seed but they could be headed for an early exit. Carlisle did a good job with that old Mavericks team. Joeger did great considering all the injuries his team faced they could have fell off the earth like the pelicans but made the playoffs. Then steve Kerr did help a team win 73 games. I think you could argue for any of those guys, but it comes down to Kerr and Stotts, I would have picked stotts but Kerr is a good choice as well.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI would’ve went with stotts considering how his team did relative to expectations. GS was expected to be really good and they turned out even better than expected. Every preseason prediction I saw had Portland deep in the lottery and they ended up with the fifth seed in the west.
You have to respect 73 wins and if kerr had coached the full season he would have been the easy choice. However, he only coached half the season and their record was actually slightly better in the games he didn’t coach.

RUDEBOY_Participantat first i felt it should’ve been stotts..but you have to give kerr credit for bringing assistants who followed his game plan ..and players who committed to winning..

ExumInfernoParticipantA player must appear in 70% of games to be a league leader, unless their numbers are really high.
So for a coach, to barely turn up to half the games, I don’t think they are worthy of an award.
The more Kerr is in the spotlight, the slimier he seems. The complaining to refs, when the foul is obvious and his team is up by 40, all these undeserved awards when he wasn’t there, he is more annoying than when he started as coach.
