HitsterParticipantWe often debate on here who are the best current NBA players. LBJ is usually consensus top choice or top 2. KD was challenging him for that title last year but injuries pushed him back a little this year.
KD’s teammate Russell Westbrook is widely regarded as a top 5 NBA player and the likes of James Harden and Anthony Davis seemed to round off a lot of other top 5’s.
The likes of DMC, Blake Griffin K-Love, Kyrie, CP3 and LaMarcus Aldridge etc tend to be among the names in a lot of people’s top 10’s too.
Steph Curry of course would have to be on that list as MVP but where do people rate him, is he up there trying to push into the top 3 or is he more in the 6-10 range.
Steve Nash was a double MVP a decade ago but I can never recall him being seen as one of the top 3 players in the NBA at that time. The likes of Kobe, AI, Duncan, LBJ etc were still seen as above him.
Also when D-Rose was MVP he perhaps did crack that top 3 in a some people’s minds but injuries then started to push him back.
IMO Step Curry has to be seen as top 5 NBA player as MVP but top 3, I’m still unsure of.
What are other people’s thoughts on this?

ZachAttackParticipantMy Top 5
1. Lebron James
2. Stephen Curry
3. James Harden
4. Anthony Davis
5. Russell Westbrook
After a season full of injury, especially since it was on his foot, I don’t think KD will come back as strong as he was before, he’s probably 6 or 7 on my list. I’d love to see him prove me wrong though.

arowsky205Participant1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant-people really are forgetting how good he is. He’s clearly better than everyone not named LeBron when healthy.
3. Russel Westbrook-most dominant player in the league this year
4. Anthony Davis
5. Stephen Curry
6. James Harden
7/8. Chris Paul/Blake Griffin-pretty much a tie to me
I think these are the only 8 superstars, and after them I think there’s a pretty big drop off, with Aldridge, George, and Cousins making up the next tier.

mgreener_34ParticipantI think he’s easily a top 10 player, but he needs to become a better defender for me to put him in the top 5 overall. This year was really watered down because we saw major injuries to guys who were considered top ten coming into the year.I think he’s top 3 in offense do doubt, and his ability to get his team mates involved adds to his effectiveness. Right now I would order it like this if everyone was healthy:
1. LeBron
2. KD
3. Anthony Davis
4. Westbrook
5. Paul
6. Griffen
7. George
8. Curry
9. Harden
10. Dcuz
I think with the injries to KD and George it’s a little hard to make a list like this. George can go off for 30 and still play lock down D, and I think this year we would have seen what he was really capable of. I also don’t know if I would take Curry over Chris Paul right now either because Paul is the better defender.
For me I think Griffen and steph are on the same level, but I feel like Blake can just do more, and is a surprisingly more unique player. Good scorer, fantastic rebounder, best passing big in the game, best finisher in the game not named LeBron. Tough for me to take Chef Curry over Blake, but I wouldn’t argue with anyone who would have Steph in the top 5 ahead of Blake, George, or Paul.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantCurry is a very good Basketball player, one of the best in the entire planet…But for the life of me I can’t tell where to place him in the Top 10
Probably after Lebron, Durant and Davis, I also find it hard to put him above Westbrook, Harden, Curry, Love, Leonard, George, Butler, Rose, Gasol, Griffin, Irving and Wall are in that next tier0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2015 - 7:37am #989423

BigChamp12ParticipantI’m just wondering… Why hasn’t no one mentioned Carmelo in their top 10? He is one of the true Superstars, and he’s always been in the 3-7 range. IMO.
But after Lebron and KD, 3-10 can be a toss up. It’s very tough to close… My list would probably be
3. Anthony Davis
4. Russell Westbrook
5. James Harden
6. Blake Griffin
7. Chris Paul
8.Steph Curry
9. Carmelo Anthony
10. DeMarcus Cousins

BiggysmallsParticipantBecause people now realize how little he does besides score…Probably a top 20 player but his star has definitely gone down in recent years.
I like to rank guys in tiers myself. Its too difficult to rank who’s better between Curry, Westy, Davis, Griffin, Harden, George, etc.
Tier 1-James
Tier 2-Durant
Tier 3-Davis, Curry, Harden, George, Aldridge, Westy, Griffin, Paul

SteezGawdParticipant1. Lebron James – next.x
2. Kevin Durant – if you really think this guy is not the second best player in the league your a fool
3. Anthony Davis – he’s 21, (tyreke helped but) he finally got his team to the playoffs IN THE WEST. Deserves this spot.
4. Stephen Curry – can the man finally get the respect he deserves? Pushed the Spurs (championship run) to 6 games and the clippers to 7 without Andrew Bogut and now has his team in the finals and is on the verge of winning a championship during his first trip to the finals against the best player on the planet.
5. Russell Westbrook – the most terrifying player in the league, hands down. Would be 3rd but failed to make playoffs last year, with arguably one of the best supporting casts in the whole league.

OhCanada-ParticipantI feel like the best player is clearly Lebron James.
The second best player is clearly Durant.
Third best is a three way tie. Curry, Harden, and Westbrook. Those three are debatable although this season I would go Curry 3, Harden 4, Westbrook 5.
And after that goes Anthony Davis who is likely rising as well.
Those are the 6 players ahead of the pack in the NBA in my opinion.
