    interesting..
i heard if Toney Douglas was off the board on draft night..the Knicks would have chosen to grab Mcclinton with there recently bought 29th pick, in the draft…sigh of relief

He was a disappointment as far as summer league goes…we didnt see the Jack Mcclinton of Miami who could shoot the lights out and reminded everybody of Eddi House

He was my “prospect you want to see succeed..but probably wont” lol

Is he trading in his cash for euros? or should he be expecting a invite to another teams training camp?

He’s 6-1 with no real PG skills.

He may find a NBA niche team but I think he is better off overseas

He looked lost and out of his league during summer league. I wouldn’t count him out, but I also think his best bet is overseas.

He looked COMPLETELY out of his element in SL…like a whale out of water…him and Donte Christmas. He’s an overseas kinda guy.

Seriously, in today’s NBA, a 6’1″ guy without PG skills, nor long arms, nor top level athleticism not named Eddie House does belong in the league. I mean, on paper, Eddie House looks to make solid contributions, but he gets taken off the dribble so easily against PGs, and can’t contain SGs with a full head of steam. He’s useless. I think Jack McClinton can potentially near Eddie House’s level of “Lights-out shooting” based on my limited views of him in college and a few summer league minutes, but that won’t be enough for an NBA team to take a chance on. McClinton just needs to go overseas where he can contain guys like Spanoulis and Popovic and yes…. even Ricky Rubio (for now). His game is actually more catered to the international game as you find many players like Jack succeeding.

i think the reason he looked out of place in summer league is because he was trying to be a point guard, he’s a scorer, he can be that energy off the bench but i think the european route for a year couldn’t hurt but it could help

I know McClinton can score in bunches like Kerr, but the Spurs got Kerr in 03 more for a veteran presence in the locker room as a guy with 4 rings and 14 years experience. I don’t dislike McClinton as a player, but he would most likely not even make the playoff roster and be in the D-League all year.

I was surprised that Jack was drafted.

Dhamp….the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

The Spurs did sign Curtis Jerrells of Baylor to a make good contact. I think he gives you a lot of the same things McClinton would, only he has better guard skills, is a better athlete, and of the two I think Jerrells was the better choice.

I like Jerrells as a 3rd PG as well…he’s talented and quick.
