4yr 23mil. I think its good value at just under 6mil a year for a much needed offensive minded C that fits LAs gameplan. I dont like the length though alot of things can change in 4 years and they better hope Spencer Hawes is implemented well into the system.

I really really like this for clips.

So far I think he is the steal of the free agency. 6 mil for a big men who can shoot the 3 consistently, spread the floor, pass the ball, rebounds nicely (not great though) and is able to blocks shots.

I wish cavs were able to get him for this price.

He couldve likely got paid another 15-Mil easily.

At least he can hit free throws. I really like Jordan and have seem his development over the years, and he doesn’t have bad form on his shot. But Damm he can’t hit free throws.

you have to like this for the clippers. Hawes will end up finishing games because Jordan is such a liability from the free throw line. Plus their front line depth the last couple years has been terrible. Ryan hollins has no business playing on a team with championship aspirations.

It’s a very nice pickup, I think Hawes is exactly what OK needed. You know what you are getting in Hawes he’s nothing special defensively or rebounding, he’s not an athlete, but he’s one of the more skilled centers in the league and beside defensive bigs is a great fit. What this deal tells me is that Frye isn’t going to get that 7 to 8 mil he was hoping for although that was a bit ambitious to begin with.

Good pick up by the Clippers gives Doc a legit 3 man frontcourt rotation to run. Hawes will share minutes around Jordan but can slip to PF when Griffin needs aa break and with CP3 to feed him it will really spread the floor and give the opponents some awkward match ups.

Hawes could have got more money elsewhere but he has got a decent 4 year deal and had a high rookie deal and a fairly lucrative 2nd deal so did not need to chase the one big pay day. Plus the 4 years takes him up until he is 30 so he has got some good long term security on a contending team.

We had him in Philly and I don’t think he really got his due here. Everyone expected him to be a 20/10 guy and that just wasn’t realistic.

The problem with Hawes is that teams have never been able to rely on him to show up. For what he can do for a team, it is a good price. He absolutely has the size and skill set to be a starting center in the league for the next 6-8 years. For what he often does, it is hard to four guaranteed years because nobody has wanted him around that long. He has never been in a spot like Los Angeles. For some guys, it brings out the best in them. For others, they lose the trust of the coach and teammates before either getting traded or bought out.
