European BasketballerParticipantThe Spanish Basketball Federation wants the Greek Adetokunbo brothers to change their nationality to Spanish. The offer is for them to be able to play in Spanish clubs with good contracts and also to be moved into the Spanish national team as players.
Reportedly, Spain not only wants them on the Spanish national team, but they also want to block them from being able to play for Greece. So by having them switch their nationality, and then playing them in the national team, it would take them away from their main European rival.
Apparently both brothers have been offered a lot of money to do this.
WTF is wrong with Spanish federation? SERIOUSLY? WTF? Their crap is getting ridiculous.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantThe Adetokunbo’s should take this offer, they might be able to one day play in the NBA if they’re Spanish

MakarosParticipantI figured it out.
David Stern realised that these brothers will be NBA stars so he paid the Spanish Federation to make them change their nationality because if they’re Spanish he can get over his hate for Greeks and allow them to be high lotto picks.
Oh my god it all makes so much sense now.

EB: can’t you just accept the fact that we have a Greek starting for the 6th best team in the West? We have another two guys (Printezis and Papanikolaou) who have been drafted and whose rights are owned by NBA teams? And we have a greek (Ioannis Papapetrou) getting some minutes while playing for Texas University?
Seriously, where the hell do you come up with your theories?
All the stupid things you are posting are making me be ashamed to say I’m from Greece…

European BasketballerParticipantWTF are you talking about? Those players were raised in Greece and in the case of Tsakalidis he was a refugee.

European BasketballerParticipantSo a player raised in Greece, after he was a political refugee as a child can’t be considered for Greek citizenship? OK, whatever.
You people are scumbags to even dare compare that to Spain trying to pay the Adetokunbo brothers to change their nationality.

European BasketballerParticipantJankovic and Sakota have lived in Greece since they were little kids. They live their as their permanent residence. They don’t even live In Serbia and have not since they were little kids.
And you are complaining about them? They obviously have the right to be considered Greek citizens if they want to. Especially since their parents also had Greek citizenship.
Only a complete nutcase would say that is like Spain buying the Adetokunbo brothers to play for them.
