I don’t know what the front office is thinking but if the Blazers fire KP then its going to be hard to be a fan.

I thought he did a great job of hording assets. He turned the jail blazers into a young and soon to be contending team. I think they would be 2nd in the west if oden (and prizbila) didn’t go down.

i dont know where you got that link or where the sources got their information but thats just silly. KP cant help if his players get injured. This would have been a hard team to beat in the post season if everyone wouldnt have gotten hurt

I doubt KP is getting fired. This rumor came up when Tom Penn got fired, who’s very close with KP.

I’d need a link to even come close to believing something like this…that would be a stupid thing to do. He’s arguably the best drafting GM in the NBA and he’s changed the culture of the Trail-Blazers in a relatively short period of time.

I don’t know how this makes sense. I haven’t agreed with all of his moves from the Oden drafting (which a lot of other GMs would have done too) to him overpaying Aldridge and then taking on Andre Miller. He almost overpaid Turkoglu as well. Overall the guy has done a great job of getting talent. No one should be held accountable for injuries, except maybe with Oden because he was injury prone before you drafted him. The Blazers are still winning despite injuries and he managed to pickup Marcus Camby for two expendable players. He has done this while bringing in high character guys. Larry Bird brought in a bunch of high character guys, but no talent. He lucked out on getting Granger falling so far. My biggest complaint with Pritchard is that he was doing a great job of building the team, but he hasn’t cashed in on any of those guys and the overpaying people can kill a team quickly. There is no way you keep them all, especially if and when the salary cap goes down.

Oden was NOT injury prone before he was drafted. He was injured ONE time in his entire playing career. Get that right.

It may makes sense ,may be they think he is a guy to build a team through draft which is great but to win a championship you also need to be good at free agency, resigning players, trades etc may be this isn’t what he is good at so they think it isn’t his time
but at the end I’ve to say 2 things:
1-I doubt the rumor is true
2-It won’t be hard for him to find a new job

Pritchard is one of the best GM in the NBA.

He made good moves by accumulating a lot of good assets and also stockpiled a few good prospects in Europe (not necessary would join them but may turn into decent trading chips). However, he was given the green night to do all those moves and it takes a willing owner to give him the money to buy picks. I wonder if he can have similiar success working for another organization where the owner has a tighter budget.

If the Blazers would fire him, it would really be a stupid move. Unable to get Turk allowed them to dodge a bullet. Signing Andre Miller has proved to be a decent move given his reasonable contract. Anyone in the position to draft 1st in 2007 would have taken Greg Oden since he was tagged as the best prospect and you always build a team with a big man. Maybe bigman just can’t get a break in Portland, so many injuries to the elite big men there: Bill Walton, Bowie, Sabonis, and now Oden. Even Przybilla and Camby couldn’t catch a break.

Anyway, it would be a big mistake for the Blazers to fire Pritchard.

If he’s fired, I would love to see the Raptors (2nd fav team) to go after him. BC is just average, Pritchard would be better.
