JoeWolf1There are plenty of NBA players who have had their dads play in the league, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, and Al Horford and just a couple high profile players that come to mind right off the bat, but none of their dads were that high profile HOF type players, Del was pretty solid though.
With a lot of the stars of the 80’s and 90’s kids now hitting the college ranks. Which one do you think will become the best player of all of them and will he even be a top level player?
Patrick Ewing Jr. is in and out of the league and, Marcus Jordan, David Stockton, Tim Hardaway Jr. are some guys college guys that are making some noise, but I dont really see any of them as stars although Marcus Jordan and Tim Hardaway Jr seem to have some real potential as far as being good rotation players.
Of all the great players of the 80’s and 90’s which one of their kids do you see being the best NBA player?
*Also, have any of you guys heard anything about Shawn Kemp Jr. since he was rule ineligable by Auburn?

JoeWolf1You guys can put up whoever you want, I just listed a couple guys off the top of my head.
and wow, I didnt’ realize Glen Rice Jr. was putting up 14 pts this year as a soph. I hadn’t watched GT since last season when he wasn’t playing much.

mikeyvthedonParticipantShawn Kemp Jr. might walk-on next year at UW (Huskies). I always wanted him to come play at U of O, but my guess is that he is not close to as good as the old man. Also, Michigan has another Horford (Jon, Al’s Brother, Tito’s son) and Joe Dumars son Jordan plays for them as well. Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson’s son also decided to play on the former NBA player’s son team in Michigan as well next year. Orlando Woolridge has a son playing on Tennessee (might have another playing somewhere as well). Out of Illinois for the class of 2013, Jabari Parker (Sonny Parker) and Tommy Hamilton (Thomas Hamilton) both had dad’s that played in the NBA. They are two of the top rated prospects in their class. Jahlil Okafor (2014), Hamilton’s teammate at Whitney Young, is apparently cousins with Emeka. Also, Kuran Iverson is 2013 and cousins with Allen.
Ralph Sampson III plays for Minnesota, and Glen Rice Jr. as you mentioned for Georgia Tech. Luke Sikma averages a double double for Portland (Jack Sikma). Pretty sure Nolan Smith’s dad Derek was an NBA player. Klay Thompson is the son of Mychal Thompson (former 1st pick in the draft out of Minnesota). Marquis Teague is of course Jeff Teague’s brother. Landen Lucas (2012) I do not believe is related to Maurice Lucas, though if he is the distance is pretty great in relation. Same with James McAdoo and Bob. Also, Nick Johnson is the nephew of Dennis Johnson and I think his dad might have also played in the NBA, he is headed to Arizona. Isaiah Austin is the nephew of former NBA journeyman Isaac Austin, one of the top rated prospects in 2012 and committed to Baylor. My brother also said something about Pau and Marc Gasol’s parents coming in his store and talking about their younger guy playing. I know he apparently looks like a nerd, but he could probably still play college ball. OJ Mayo’s brother Todd is also going to play at some D1 school. These are just some that I know of, sure I left a bunch out.
Most importantly, Canada has Andrew Wiggins, son of Mitch Wiggins and Canada’s greatest basketball hope since Leo Rautins (kidding, since Rick Fox 😉

JoeWolf1Thanks for the input mikeyvthedon,
Orlando’s other son Royce is a freshman at KU, but I’d be flat out shocked if he played in the NBA. He is still young, but has been a big disappointment this year, and not because he has struggled to find minutes, it’s what he’s done in those minutes he has played.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI always forget that Klay Thompson is Mychal Thompson’s son. He is really underrated on alot of boards. I honestly think he might end up being the best SG prospect when all is said and done this year and should be considered a lottery pick.
