Skeating12345ParticipantI saw a post a couple days ago asking about a prospect you are not as high on as most people are. I thought it was an interesting post, so I am going to flip things around and ask, which prospect are you higher on than most people and why?
Mine would be Mario Hezonja. I legitimately think that if he keeps it together mentally, he can be the best player from this draft. Great size and athleticism, a sweet stroke from outside, and the ability to create off the dribble as well. Though there are some concerns about his attitude, at the end of the day, I would rather have someone that is harder on himself and a bit cocky than a player who is too passive and does not have enough fire in him. Though he did not get a ton of minutes, he also has pro experience playing in the highest level in Europe. I really like Hezonja and think he could potentially slip into the top 5.

prophetmeirParticipantFor me its Grant , hes 6-5 a true point guard great size and has a great flow of game. He averaged 19 and 6 ast one year and 16 and 7 ast the next. that’s extremely hard in the college game. I think he will compete for a starting spot day one I hope he goes to the mavs

zer0d0ubtJerian Grant – seems like a complete scorer, and complete offensive player
Kelly Oubre – this year’s Zach LaVine
Cliff Alexander – Step into the dog pound b!tches
Dakari Johnson – And what’s wrong with 14 points, 9 rebounds per game?
Rakeem the Dream – You didn’t think I could start in the NBA?
Myles Turner – Just wait until I stop growing, dummies.
Christian Wood – I’m half WCS and half Porzingis. And way better value in the late 20s.
Chris Walker – It’s a simple game. Don’t overthink it.
Andrew Harrison – I’m a combo-guard, not a point guard, dummies.

TimberTrollParticipantSo what you’re saying is that you want your Celtics to pick:
16th pick – Turner, Grant, or Oubre
28th pick – Wood or Christmas
33rd pick – Dakari Johnson or Alexandar
46th pick – Harrison or Walker
What do you think of them trading up for WCS?

zer0d0ubtI’d much rather any of your scenarios above than trade up for WCS.
Two years ago, WCS wasn’t any higher ranked than Christian Woods is now, with the same questions about work ethic. They even weighed the same. Except WCS couldn’t and still can’t shoot or dribble. And Wood is already a way better rebounder.
Dakari is probably a better NBA center than WCS.

laxmisonParticipantAndrew Harrison- I think hes a starting 2 guard in the League
Myles Turner- I think he should be top 5-6 player in the draft
Tyus Jones-I think hes a starting PG in the League, a good one too.
Rashad Vaughn-I think he has a chance to be a really good player

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipant1. Kelly Oubre, I feel Oubre has the talent to be a star. I honestly feel he’s just as talented as Johnson and Winslow. 6’7, with a 7’2 wingspan, has a 37 inch max vertical and I think he can get higher than that, very explosive, smooth lefty jumpshot, he looks like a star. We all know he had an up and down season at Kansas, but in the right spot, he could blow up.
2. Bobby Portis, a few months ago I called him a Poor Man’s LaMarcus Aldridge. Bobby Portis will be able to score inside, score outside, play the 4 and the 5, and play defense, he’s also a smart passer, he has length, he has production, the only thing Bobby Portis is missing is athleticism. I think he will be able to be a productive player though.
I higher on those 2 players than most.

B-ball fanParticipantI’d consider him at around pick 10. I think he has excellent defensive potential and could be a really nice versatile offensive player given time. Kind of like Draymond Green – a do-it-all player who can match up with all kinds of different players. He may need some time to adjust to the league, but I’d prefer him to Lyles and Portis, who are less versatile and talented, and Myles Turner, who has very questionable awareness on the court.

RUDEBOY_Participantyeah i totally agree about looney….you can never go wrong selecting a guy that hustles & skilled..plus he’s a great rebounder, shot blocker..that can score in a variety of ways…..and played guard in high school….
marc garcia the 19 year old from spain,he might withdraw his name..but he was getting alot of 1st round talk earlier in the season, but didnt play up to it..so alot of folks cooled on him..but for his age he’s so creative and versatile…..
andrew harrison has gotten alot of flack for not being a great playmaker..but he’s a good passer ,has a great feel for the game…he might blossom in the right system….he’s sort of a poor man’s tyreke evans or lance stephenson….
alan williams is another guy that could be a 2nd round steal…
aaron wright of iowa does alot of things well, but doesnt stand out in any..he’s been getting alot of good feedback in workouts

Chilbert arenasParticipantJustice Winslow- Yes he projected top 6 but I think he’s going to be the best player out of this draft. Russell’s athletecism, and Mudiays jump shot are both big question marks to me. Big men like Towns and Okafor aren’t as relevant in todays NBA and Winslows physical attributes and motor make me believe he’ll be an all-star within the next 3-4 years. Though he’s not a great shooter, his mechanics aren’t broke and it will come along with some work.
Vince Hunter- Steal of the 2nd round to me. He’s somewhat positionless but with bench players it seems to matter less and less. He’s a strong athlete who plays hard. If he can work on his range he could be a big steal.

ilike.panochasParticipant2 guys that I probably like more than anyone else:
Stanley Johnson – As of right now, he is my 5th best prospect (behind Towns, Okafor, Russell, Winslow). Most have him outside of top 5, some even outside of top 10. I see Jamal Mashburn, 2 inches shorter but with better defense.
2) Kelly Oubre – He so much untapped potential and I believe the work ethic is there as well. His ceiling is Andre Iguadala, and at worst Dorrell Wright.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHe may not be the strongest or the best athlete, but he’s a smart player and just a flat out winner. He has that "it factor" where he seems to play better in the biggest moments, and thats something thats hard to measure on a scouting report. I think he’ll be able to get to the basket better than most people think at the next level. Worse case scenario, I think he’s a solid backup for 10-15 years, but I actually think he could turn out to be a whole lot better than that.

OhCanada-ParticipantI have a few although the right scenario is obviously necessary for any prospect to flourish.
Porzingis and Johnson don’t get enough respect as lottery picks. I think Johnson should be viewed as good a prospect as Winslow and Porzingis is a top 5 prospect.
Athleticism isn’t everything and its the only reason why Portis is not a consensus lottery pick.
Vaughn may have had a bad shot selection but he is also the youngest player in the draft and has experience as the go to guy and a high volume shooter which he handled well has a freshman. Scoring wise he iss a do it all wing with sneaky athleticism, and an NBA body and he should be able to at least find a role in the NBA. At 20-35 in the draft that’s a lot of value.
Guillermo Hernangomez is my sleeper pick to go 15-25 in the draft. He has great footwork, soft touch, good shooting mechanics offensively. Defensively he is a hard worker and has decent athleticism and build to defend PF/C in the NBA. He is also very smart.
If J.P. Tokoto can hit the 3 point shot consistently he will be a steal.
Cliff Alexander cut down his body fat and is hitting the midrange jumper. He seems motivated to prove he is the prospect he was in his Chicago HS days battling Okafor.
Justin Anderson won’t last late 1st round. He will be gone by then. Some NBA team will need a role player and decide that Anderson fits that role. Most likely he will too.

Winning_TimeParticipantI love Olivier Hanlan. I don’t see how a guard who can score like that and has his sort of feel for the game won’t find a place in the league. I have him going to the bulls in the first round which I would say is much higher than most.
I also think Timothe Lawawu just really passes the eye test. It’s harder to study international prospects but I can see the Spurs taking him at 26. Same goes for Alpha Kaba, I think between these Lawawu, Kaba, Hernandez, and George Lucas, one will surprise and go in the top 16 or so.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantHe’s gotten to the point of being underrated. There’s no way there’s 5 better PG’s than him in this draft, but the masses seem to believe so. So smart, great defender, jack of all trades. The only question is his 3pt shooting which I think will improve with time. He’s going to have a very long career, whether as a backup or a starter.

WinterSoldierParticipantI like a lot of the second round talent this year.
Alpha Kaba: Young, Long, Good athlete and a nice developing jumper. He is great value in the 2nd round.
Timothe Luwawu: Athletic, high level defender, young. This kid is full of potential.
Rakeem Christmas: I think he can step in right away and be a impactful back up center.
Jordan Mickey: He could turn into a defensive specialist that locksdown opposing wings and stretch forwards.
Darkari Johnson: He could develop into a solid back up big man like a young Brendan Haywood type.
Cliff Alexander: He is tough kid I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up making a roster.
I’m excited about this years draft. I think there is more second round talent than most years.

I think Sykes overcomes his size with some insane athleticism and he has some ridiculous skills. I really like how Ndoye is super physical (it should work against today’s softer NBA). If Montero played legit competition, he might be a 1st rounder. I think Multinov could go the highest.

Sewok15ParticipantR.J. Hunter….I think he will land in a good spot and he can knock down shots. Memphis could really use a guy like him if he is still around when they pick.

rich.homie.mitchParticipantI feel the same about R.J. Hunter, I really want my blazers to pick him. Yes his % aren’t the best but I feel that’s because he was the main focus for defenses and GSU really had no one else. If I had to compare him to someone it’d be Korver. Both great shooters and good passers. He also has a 6’10 wingspan.
I also really like Oubre, 6’7 guard with great combine #’s, nice looking shot and a good defender. Just needs some help to put it all together.
