I believe most of you will probably remember this article Chad Ford posted two years ago:

    http://www.espn.com/nba/draft2014/story/_/id/11099139/nba-draft-lebron-james-leads-rank-top-25-draft-prospects-last-15-years

I wanted to see if people would be interested in making our own versions before the upcoming season starts. Though I figured we could add in the year before (1999) when this site first started posting mock drafts, up to this upcoming 2017 draft. So bascially any prospect from the NBA Draft in 1999 to 2017. I’ll post my list in the next comment. Looking forward to seeing what some of the old heads on here come up with.

    1. Lebron James (2003)

    2. Greg Oden (2007)

    3. Yao Ming (2002)

    4. Anthony Davis (2012)

    5. Kevin Durant (2007)

    6. Darko Milicic (2003)

    7. Derrick Rose (2008)

    8. Carmelo Anthony (2003)

    9. Andrew Wiggins (2014)* – I thought he would end up number two or three on this list after his senior year of high school.

    10. Joel Embiid (2014)

    11. Ben Simmons (2016)

    12. Blake Griffin (2009)

    13. John Wall (2010)

    14. Karl Towns (2015)

    15. Jay Williams (2002)

    16. Mike Beasley (2008)

    17. Dwight Howard (2004)

    18. Kwame Brown (2001)

    19. Jabari Parker (2014)

    20. Andrw Bogut (2005)

    21. Darius Miles (2000) * – This dude first got me in to the draft. I remember the highlight potential with him was insane back in the day. Surprised he never amounted to much.

    22. Kyrie Irving (2011)

    23. OJ Mayo (2008)

    24. Jahlil Okafor (2015)

    25. Brandon Ingram (2016)

I wasn’t sure where to put the class of 2017, its hard to judge this early in the year.

4 prospects from Chicago on this list in the short time span is incredible…  One could make a case for Eddy Curry as well if Okafor is on this list.. One could make the case that Curry was a better Talent, just a lacking work ethic

What are the rules here?  Obviously hindsight has to exist right?  Like I can throw Darko out because 1) He sucked…. and 2) I didn’t think he was a top prospect at the time.  So with those few ground rules in mind..

    1) Lebron

    2) KD

    3) Yao

    4) Greg oden

    5) Joel Embiid

    6) Dwight Howard

    7) Andrew Wiggins

    8) D Rose

    9) Melo

    10) Anthony Davis

    11) John Wall

    12) Michael Beasley

    13) Karl Towns

    14) Ben Simmons

    15) Jabari Parker

    16) Blake Griffin

    17) Brandon Ingram

    18) Jahlil Okafor

    19) CP3

    20) Eddy Curry

    21) Tyson Chandler

    22) This is getting too hard I’m done.

If your gonna go back to 1999 steve Francis was considered a potential superstar coming out of Maryland. He was a pretty big-time prospect at the number 2 pick probably even more so than number one pick elton Brand. He possessed athleticism at the pg spot that hadn’t really been seen before at that time. I would say he belongs somewhere on this list.

I would also include Derrick williams. There was a lot of hype surrounding him after a phenomenal final season at Arizona and he was considered to be neck and neck with kyrie as to who would be the first pick.

Beasley is too low one your list at 16 imo. The guy had maybe the best one and done season of all-time and was considered to be a superstar in the making pre-draft. I’d say at least half the teams in the league at the time would have taken him over rose.

Other than that, I’d move a few guys around a few spots and maybe take a few names off at the bottom in favor of some other guys. However, overall I have to admit this is a pretty decent list.

Looking over it I definitely have a few changes I want to make, for example the one with Beasley, and maybe even sneaking Eddy Curry in to the list and Williams, both Williams and Beasley werent far off from Rose and Irving at the time. It gets really cluttered with something like this though after the top 10.
