valentineSam Dekker is big time he was a big recruit out of
wisconsin he stayed home and that is why I feel he is underated wisconsin
does not know how to use him on offense this kid has it all size, speed, strong, can
shoot, can create and can handle he can have an impact like McDermott. Wisconsin
offense is so stagnic all they do is shoot 3’s they can post him or give him the ball on the elbow. What do you all feel about the kid?

llperezThis was the first time I really watched Wisconsin, and there was nothing slow about them. They ran and gunned like crazy with no conscience. Got up about 30 threes tonight vs Oregon. Dekker is very solid, but based on what isaw tonight, there is zero reason to suggest he is held back by the Wisconsin offense. Dekker might have a very bright future, but to say he is Doug McDermott good right now? Crazy. He is just one of many solid guys on Wisconsin and not asked to carry the load. People automatically assume guys who share the spotlight and are not given the green light to carry a team , like McDermott is, would excel not counting in that defenses would load up on them.

GrandmamaParticipantDekker reminds me of Matt Harpring. Gritty hustler with decent athleticism.

Jester87ParticipantYep, very nice comparison. Better athlete, not as good a shooter or as polished on offense, but if you look at the big picture, it really makes a lot of sense.
By the way, Winsconsin’s offense isn’t stagnant at all, they move the ball really well. They take a lot of 3s but mostly are good open jumpers following efficient ball movement. Probably he’s not the best fit for that kind of game and could produce more for another team, but not really much, his ball handling is below average and his jumper’s been streaky throughout his whole career. He still needs to work a lot on his offensive skills. Definitely not on McDermot’s level
