Russell Westbrook is a beast. There’s no denying that. He is exciting for the league and he gives it all on the court. He averaged a triple double for three straight years! Nobody could ever imagine the things he has achieved over his 11 year career. While I appreciate his talent, I despise his immaturity. I understand the competitive mindset and the trash talking but underneath all that is just a crybaby who whines when things don’t go his way. His relationship with the media isn’t pretty either. His continuous showing of disrespect to the media and the fans as well makes me want to see him fail as a basketball player.

I can’t lie. I’m enjoying this series where he got outplayed by Dame. His cradling the baby taunt isn’t working now. (Annoying as hell) They are probably going home in Game 5. I’d love to see him go on another angry outburst just for the fun of it.

NBA players rated him most overrated this year. He has Hall of Fame numbers. However, Harden is with a top team, so is Durant. He was with both those guys and they couldn’t get to the finals. I think he takes too many possessions without them being effective enough to be a champion. The Thunder should have been Harden at PG, Westbrook as an off-the-ball SG (and developed outside skills), and Durant doing his thing.

They did get to the Finals. The fact that people hold it against them for losing to Miami that year is ridiculous considering they were 22 and 23 years old going up against Lebron at his peak

Dude went 5 for 21 on his home court. His teams have never won jack. Players in the league think he’s the most overrated guy around.

To be honest, I wouldn’t want to talk to the media about any of that either.

i don’t have anything against the guy, and I can appreciate the fact that he cares. I’d rather watch him and have him on my team over a guy like Andrew Wiggins who is a half step away from his team being better off if he didn’t show up at all’s at least Westbrook cares.

But … part of being an NBA great is being able to channel that in a positive way and keep it under control. Michael Jordan cared. But he rarely, if ever, played the game like a loose canon.

He is overrated and true stat padder.  He will never win a championship all the time he is number 1 or number 2 option. He is a low % shooter, even worse in the playoffs

I don’t know too many players that would want to play with him that is why I was really surprised when Paul George signed there….

Compare both Lillard’s and Westbrook’s post-game interviews and man does Lillard seem so much more mature, especially given that they or both professional athletes AND veterans at that. Lillard manages to be both classy and not boring at the same time. He doesn’t give robotic answers. Westbrook is just an ass.

Biggest issue with Russ? He can’t shoot the damn ball at all. He’s basically another one of those players who doesn’t impact the game unless he’s dominating the ball. Due to that, he’s predictable.

There’s just not enough shooting on OKC period.

His attitude doesn’t really bother me. That’s just who he is. It’s both his blessing and his curse. If he’s making threes and shots, nobody is complaining.

Russell Westbrook has shot 50% or better in only 1 of 15 playoff games since Kevin Durant left. (Had 20 such playoff games when Durant was there.) Westbrook will never win a championship. He’s too worried about being the man and chucking the ball 30 times a game. KD was a 100% correct about playing with him……………..

What exactly did KD say about how he hated playing with Russ? I must’ve missed it

Basketball IQ is among the most underrated aspects of the game. When I watch Westbrook play, there are just way too many instances of a "What the F was that" moments for a player his calibar.

Think of it this way — Dennis Rodman shot 48, 44 and 43 percent from his three years with the Bulls. But we remember him as a great player, because he played within himself and played his role. He might have shot a poor percentage, but he never shot the ball, so he didn’t hurt his team. He averaged four shots per game. He got an offensive rebound, and found someone who could make shot.

Russell Westbrook should never have a game where he chucks 10 or more 3-pointers. Ever. He has, if nothing else, proved throughout his NBA career that he can’t consistently make them. He needs to attack the basket and shoot a shot he can actually make, and make a decision, quickly. Drive it, shoot it or pass it. Instead he dribbles it 48 times and then does something when there are three seconds on the shot clock, meaning he or a teammate gets a bad, contested shot.

That’s the fundamental problem with his game, and in turn, his teams.

OKC plays way too much "My turn, Your turn" basketball and the league, for the most part, has advanced beyond that. The ball should be moving, and when your open, shoot it or make a decision.

he plays is like a Train without a track. He is playing with  reckless abandon and aggression much like how he do interviews with the media. But man, if you lose don’t be a sore loser and act like you are gracious in deafeat not a child whose lollipop was taken from your mouth. You were defeated and that makes you humbled but westbrook seems not

Give portland props as they have beaten us properly and have Stotts clearly has outcoached Donovan..I am not making excuse for this team either as they are clearly underperforming as we have the deeper team with Nurkic being out..

So I have been an OKC fan since 08… I am in no way giving westbrook a free pass as he is what he is everyone here probably knows that he will shoot you in or out of a game there is no inbetween..

Things to consider though P.G shouldn’t even be out there if is injury what is potentially suggested-Torn Labrum.

Westbrook never really got himself into game shape/Rhythym due to weirdly timed surgery on knees in offseason. Hence the very little lift in his legs this season. See Jumper and very little lift on layups and Dunks as examples…Also the guy really shouldn’t have altered his shooting form-See MVP shooting % vs current seasons there has been some change and it’s not for the better…

Donovan should hopefully be fired this offseason if the Thunder are bounced this playoffs(which its looking like). He is hopless his rotations suck,He has bad game management and his incesent desire to always play two P.G’s is frustrating to say the least. This is without mentioning his poor load mangagement of our stars who are far to banged up when we need them the most..I wouldn’t mind seeing Jeff van Gundy getting a shot honestly as he coached a scrub team of g leaugers to the world champs so USA could qualify for World champs…He has also coached star players so may be more capable of handling Russ and P.G than Donovan…

This team needs more shooting to go with Westbrooks slashing play style..I almost feel bad for Presti as its looking like he will need to pull a rabbit out of the hat this offseason for a bounce back..
