I say steph curry… lights out shooter in warriors uptempo offense should mean big numbers
16 points 4 assists and 2 boards along with a steal should be enough to win rookie of the year
blake griffin could post big numbers but there is a logjam of bigmen with camby, kaman, and jordon.
i say 14 and 8 for griffin but curry wins it

You guys might be overlooking Johnny Flynn who has… Sebastian Telfair and Bobby Brown to compete with. Lol. And he will rack up dimes feeding Al in the post.

He might be the assist leader, now that Rubio is gone, but I don’t think he will get it. He might be on the all rookie 1st team since apparently he’s the next point guard behind rubio, but i don’t think he will get the ROY

I don’t see any reason why Johnny Flynn doesn’t average 18 pts 7 ass 3 rebs 1+ stls…. which I think would lock in the ROY award.

The Twolves are going to be AWFUL next year. Randy Foye and Mike Miller were there 2nd and 3rd best players last year… and they traded them for a guy who won’t even be on the team next year.

Flynn may get those stats shooting 35% FG, but I still think that 18-7-3-1.5 will be enough to win

I’d definitely put a vote in for Evans over Curry and Griffin… I think it’s a toss up between Evans and Flynn.

The main thing holding back Griffin is that he’s got legitimate competition on his own team for minutes and stats – playing behind and alongside Camby and Kaman will make it difficult for him to accumulate the statistics to justify ROY honors.

Still, I think he stands a good shot if A) the Clippers improve and B) his numbers are decent.

Kind of depends on what happens from here on out…

There was rumors that Z-Bo was traded to Memphis, but the trade hasnt officially gone through yet(why?), so if the trade gets vetoed then Blake Griffin wont win…

Curry could win depending on the minutes he gets, he wants to play the point, and Monta will get atleast 35 mpg at that position…and at the SG spot, Curry would have to compete with Azubuike, Morrow, Bellineli, and Stephen Jackson, plus it doesnt help that Don Nelson isnt too high on playing rookies alot

Its going to come down to Tyreke Evans and Jonny Flynn…Tyreke Evans could win it simply because he’ll dominate most of the other point guards, and teams wouldnt put there SG’s on him, because that mean they’ll have to play there shorter PGs on Kevin Martin, who is 6’7….thats a big azz backcourt

And Jonny Flynn has Kevin Love and Al Jefferson to rack up his assist, and im sure scoring wouldnt be a problem for him either..

But in the end, Tyreke Evans will win it all, imo

He is super NBA ready is going to get plenty of minutes for LA, He is a true PF and Camby and Kaman are centers, they are not going to affect his minutes. Griffin is going to have an Elton Brandesque rookie year, and by February he is averaging are 18 ppg and 9 or 10rpg, probably around 16 and 8 for the whole season

    lmao, i wrote alot..

anywho, if David Lee doesnt re-sign with the Knicks then Jordan Hill will take over his spot and he could compete for the ROY with that up-tempo system

Jonny Flynn will be the R.O.Y. And Brandon Jennings will give him a run for his money

i think its gonna be james harden. smart, silky smooth player who lets the game come to him. and he’s also way more athletic than what he’s shown everyone at ASU. 16pts 5reb 4ast next year

Blake Griffin probably has the most NBA ready body and game, so he is favored to win the ROY
James Harden is the next best NBA ready prospect but behind Durant, Westbrook and Green it’ll b hard for him to log the touches he needs for ROY, but he will be in the running
Stephen Curry has the perfect coach and offense for his game to flourish next season
Tyreke Evans has the body, the length, and the all-around game to appeal to the fans and put up big points, rebounds, and assists in Sac.
Brandon Jennings is going to be either really good or really bad next season but I hope he will succeed, and he may surprise all the doubters out there

    So my ROY is:

    1. Tyreke Evans
    2. Stephen Curry
    3. Blake Griffin
    4. Brandon Jennings
    5. James Harden

It tells me something that they won’t include him in deal to Suns. He is major part of their plans and will blend in nicely with Monta Ellis to form a nice backcourt. Hardin and Flynn should post good nummers and Griffin will get on the court enough to also. Curry is my pick.

lol, storm, if you think that Daye, DeRozan or Mullens has a chance at that award……. I don’t know what to say. Maybe you should try discussing another sport.

Those 3 are all AT LEAST a year away from being legitimate rotation players in the NBA, let alone ROY.

James Harden is playing with so many scorers so it would be pretty hard to win ROY. To me its either Griffin or Curry.

    blake griffin no doubt.

u guys don’t realize that last years rookie class was very rare. its hard for a rookie to put up the numbers that rose, mayo, westbrook, and gordon put up last season. griffin is in that class of players, however no other player in this draft is. im not being biased im just telling it like it is.
