Hype MachineHaha man….I was halfway through this epic rant and then accidently hit submit on my phone.
And there was no way I could finish it in time before my edit time window closed.
I had to think quick lol…and I kinda choked And this is all I had.
I was about to wear a lot of negs regardless…it also has the potential to be one of those threads where people scroll down and neg me everytime they see one of my comments.
Ahh well…

OhCanada-ParticipantMy original comment to this thread was edited as well after I saw you changed it. My original post was something along the lines of wtf is your point, but now that you’ve explained the thread was only halfway through it makes sense.
But…What was your point. The 2016 draft isn’t weak? Or the 2017 draft isn’t strong? Lmao you were really all over the place there.

Hype MachineTo be honest, after the amount of Gin ‘n’ Tonics I’ve put away this weekend, I think it’s probably best that I just stuck to this one.
Anyways my predictions are as following.
ROY: Ben Simmons – He’s going to have the ball, be in an uptempo offense and put up great rookie counting stats…ala MCW. I think he will struggle to put the ball in the hoop and the big guys will hog the rebounds, but will average plenty of assists feeding the hungry mouths of Embiid, Okafor, Noel (lobs) and whoever can make a 3pt shot. Stat Projection: 15p, 6r & 9a
Rookie who helps a playoff team: Kris Dunn This should be a separate award, since theres less chance to pad stats and the gametime is more meaningful. I can see the Twolves being in a season-long race for the 6-8th seed and coming home strong with young legs. Stat Projection: 12ppg, 3rpg, 5apg.
Rookie who will find himself in the D-League: Skal Labissiere – I’ll put away my knives since I’ve bashed Skal for so long that even the Redback Spiders under my toilet seat are getting bored. But he is so low on confidence that if he gets off to a slow start, or has a bad summer league, I think he will need to find his groove in the D-League for the first half of the season.

r377ParticipantI am going to go for the obvious two.
ROY
Ben Simmons 15p-7.5r-6a
Runner up
Ingram 15-5So many projects drafted, the only other who I think will get signif playing time is Buddy Hield and maybe Dunn. Jamal Murray will have to split his time at Denver.
If Caris Levert can stay healthy he should log a lot of mins and could be in the running for 2nd team all rook.
Depending on injuries and who gets moved Denzel and Baldwin might gets some minutes, along with Chriss after the all-star break…

circumlocution75Participanthear me out: Bryan Colangelo was brought in to sweep away all memory of the Hinkie era in terms of the Bad publicity both locally & nationally
Colangelo has Zero ties to Embiid – he did Not Draft him
He could have walked in & dumped Embiid & no one would have said a word
That leads me to believe the Doctors have told him this kid is good to go & he must look great in practice
B/c Colangelo has been Very clear that Simmons, Embiid & Saric are the team’s nucleus — those are the 3 names he specifically mentioned at the press conference introducing Ben Simmons & Timothy Luwawu
It was No accident that Colangelo Omitted the names of Okafor & Noel — those two are Gone.
If Embiid is healthy & he’s playing w/ Simmons & Saric he’s going to score, rebound & block shots like crazy —– plus I didn’t want to pick Simmons or Ingram b/c they are the obvious choices
23 ppg 12 rpg & 3.5 blocks —– this kid is Bigger than Whiteside & Gobert

OhCanada-ParticipantSo basically your predicting Embiid will have one of the best rookie seasons of all-time and be an All NBA first team player from day one.
I’mba believer in his talents but you’ve gotta realize how productive 23-12-and-3.5- is. I’d say he is more likely to average 15-9-and-2.

PhillySteveParticipantThe qualifier is health and i have spoken with the doc who could still be wrong, but a healthy Embid could in fact be all-nba this year. Most likely 3rd team but in a few short years he’ll be a fixture on 1st. The delay may come as a result of his reduced minutes at start of season.
Too long since Philly had one, but weve had many. Who knows, if this Simmons kid pans out, might get 2.
Embid ROY as well.

Hype MachineI love your enthusiasm Circumlocution, but you over-rate 76ers players more than anyone else on this site. And that involves some pretty stiff competition.
I’m pretty sure you’re top 5 players in the NBA would start with Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid.
23, 12 and 3.5…..as a rookie! He’s probably only going to play 26-28mpg.

but at least I can admit it —- isn’t that the first step to solving my Sixers "problem"? 😉

Brown 6ppg, 6rpg

Dunn 8ppg, 4apg, 2rpg

rookie of the year: Caris LeVert. 20ppg, 5apg, 5rpg on 40% shooting been goven the keys to the Brooklyn Nets

ChicagoCaseyParticipantIngram putting up 16 a night with tons of scorers on that roster. They have D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Julius Randle that most likely get the ball more than him. But, Ben Simmons would only get 12 on a team that lacks scoring and who’s best scorer is on the trading block.
By your projections this rookie class will be the worst in league history.
0- Posted on: Sat, 06/25/2016 - 11:01pm #1077575
trelos6ParticipantMost years, only a few rookies end up scoring more than 15ppg.
Last year Towns had 18ppg, Okafor 17.5. That was all.
And then Zinger, Booker had good seasons.
Who will contribute for their teams from the start? Ingram prob as he’ll be a top option on that Lakers side. Simmons also, but until he can shoot, will struggle to put up the big point games.
Brown’s a backup mostly doing Harrison Barnes type things. Bender could get some big minutes.
Dunn will be passing to Wiggins/Towns and that’s when he’s not picking up Rubio’s jock strap.
Hield has to get ahead of Gordon/Holiday/Reke on the rotation.
Murray will likely start next to Mudiay and be given the keys.

HitsterParticipantGood question – I’d have to say that Simmons is favourite to win it especially if he becomes Philly’s main ball handler. As regards Embiid I don’t think he’ll start to begin with and his minutes will be built up very gradually, personally I’d be surprised if he averages much more than 20mpg in his debut season. I’m as excited as anyone to see him play in the NBA but just getting him into rotation and getting him playing is a key this season.
Philly may well have to share a lot of minutes in positions 3 to 5 amongst a number of players and a lot will depend on any roster changes.
Ingram is likely to get as many minutes as Simmons and could put up decent stats for the Lakers.
A lot of the other higher drafted guys will be works in progress and may have to compete for minutes or will be down the shooting options list. Bender and Chriss will be behind Len and Chandler, Brown will be on a strong Boston team, Dunn will be behind a lot of talent too.
I agree that Caris LeVert could put up some good stats if he gets serious minutes for the Nets and can have a shot at All Rookie Team and be an outsider for ROY.

nill650ParticipantHeild will win it imo, playing with Davis could be a great 1-2 punch for years to come.
Simmons will likely be at the 3 this season and until his shot improves unless he is the primary ball handler (which he could be) I don’t see him being able to take advantage of his full skillset.
Ingram has a shot if his teamates give up the ball. But they won’t
sleeper is Dunn if he takes Rubios minutes away from him faster than expected.
huge sleeper is Jamall Murray who might have opportunity to put up big #’s on the 2nd unit

binetParticipantNot sure how the 6ers are going to work and play, but I feel Embiid is going to be incredible right away.
He still is injury-prone so we never know, but I will bet on him.
A 12 ppg, 8 rpg, 2 bpg on limited minutes (between 20 and 25) could do it this year, because the class is not that talented and the only one I expect to have better numbers than that would be teammate but with lot more minutes and you have to reward the star/franchise player, and that’s going to be Embiid.
