Does anyone know if any other rookie has an endorsement deal besides John Wall? If so post a list of the players with links please.

Sorry, but I will just tell you that I heard Blake Griffin signed last year with Nike for 500,000 (I believe a year, maybe in the whole deal). I think with shoe and endorsements, it is beyond where you are picked in the draft, but how marketable you actually are as a player, and that usually tends to happen as a player becomes more established. I am sure all of these guys get signed to shoe contracts or get a little something via the team or team sponsors, but other than that it is there marketability and name value. The only player in this draft who seemed like a sure thing was Wall, so that is why Reebok inked him to big money. I am sure Evan Turner will get a little something, and I am guessing their agents have something to do with where they sign as well. If any of these guys become really big names though, than that is when we will start seeing big endorsements. 2008 is a good example, as it already had not only nice name recognition in Derrick Rose, but also in OJ Mayo, who had been publicized for years. Ultimately, the guys who get talked about at an early age, if they live up to the hype before they get drafted, they have big things coming there way. If they do not, than they just become any other player a la Derrick Caracter.

Do you see Turner or Favors with a major shoe deal since they were among the top 3 picks? I would especially love to see Turner with a signature Nike shoe opposed to Wall’s Reeboks.

Not with Turner’s voice if he needs to speak. Not hating on the player, but his voice isn’t exactly great (in marketing, EVERYTHING needs to be close to perfect)

Favors, I can see him getting a deal down the line sometime

I know it’s not Turner’s fault, but that’s the way it plays out in life. He could still get a deal, but not as a spokesperson.

I just do not think either of them are super marketable. Mind you, Griffin did not really have a signature shoe, and few rookies tend to have their own right off the bat. Like, 3 huge players, Wade, Melo and Paul, all are with Jordan. Wade used to be with Converse, which is owned by Nike, and Bosh was on Converse as well, not sure if he is anymore. But the odds are, unless Turner or Favors signed with that Asian company that gives every player their own signature shoe (Ron Artest, Baron Davis and Sasha Vujacic are signed there among others), I think both will have to show and prove. For now, if you want kicks, just go with hyperdunks, hyperizes or anything the pro’s wear, because they are great to play in. I have LeBron 6’s I like, but I think it all depends on your foot. Go with comfort and substance over style, though you can customize I am sure.

Even though Turner & Favors are in marketable tri-state cities I can see Turner, with a signature shoe before Favors. You rarely see a big man with a signature or major deal coming out of the college ranks.

Other than money and draft status, what plays a part in which shoe company you go with, or which shoe company has interest in you?

Not to sound gay, but I think the way a guy looks plays a part in it.

For sure, but I think it is alot about personality and performance. I know the ladies in Portland love Rudy Fernandez, and if Rudy was playing like Manu Ginobili, he would be a superstar as far as endorsements. But, I think it is a combination of playing ability and personality. I guess that is why an ugly, slighty stocky bald man became a big score for Nike.

Cousins is a big man for starters, second it would be harder for him to find a fan base to buy his shoe, due to the fact that he is not a fan favorite. I only see Wall & Turner with their own shoes out of the whole draft class. Wall & Turner will fill seats, they are likable to the public eye & most important “Fan Favorites”.
